Well, I thought I would report on the DHA experiment.

I bought two brands. One is Royal Body Care and is multi level and so, is high

priced, but it is from vegetables, whereas others are from fish and so I thought

I would try both sources and see if there is a difference. The fish source one

I got from NOW Foods

The RBC brand came first and so I tried it first. I noticed the first night

that my adrenals were not sending off little zings in the night time and that

was wonderful.

The second day, when I layed down to take a brief rest, I noticed when I closed

my eyes, that there was a pea sized circle in my vision that had letters quickly

scanning past it. It was like reading a book through a pea sized hole and

really not being able to read it because the text moved so fast. I could see

that it was letters, but they moved to fast to read. I figured my brain was

decompressing from all the email I had read. It was very strange.

I also noticed that I didn't seem to be able to relax inside. I was trying to

rest, but my nervous system wouldn't relax enough to really rest.

The next day I tried a brief resting period in afternoon and this time when I

closed my eyes I saw whole pages of quick moving text passing in front of my

vision. Really strange and NOT restful. And I noticed the same inability to

get my nervous system to relax.

So the next day I didn't take any DHA, suspecting that it was the culprit on the

closed eye text thing, as well as the tight nervous system thing. Just one day

off the DHA and they both were gone. And then, that night, the adrenal thing

was back.

Hum. I am not sure what to make of all this.

I have often wondered if my adrenals were down because my nervous system wasn't

up to par, or if my nervous system wasn't up to par because my adrenals were

down. Well, it seems as tho boosting my nervous system made the adrenal thing

go away and nothing that I have done that has targeted the adrenals themselves

has ever helped and so I am thinking, from this experiment, that the adrenals

themselves are not the issue, but the nervous system. And I have been acutely

aware, from the beginning, that my cfs was totally a nervous system problem. I

don't know what caused it, but my nervous system definitely malfunctioned.

I am almost totally over it, but things like the adrenal thing tell me my

nervous system is not fully restored.

So anyway, The NOW brand came yesterday and tomorrow I will try it for a few

days and see if I notice anything different.

I can hear some of your minds wondering already, so I will answer the question I

imagine you asking. I didn't just take isolated DHA, which is a fatty acid. I

took it with Udo's Oil which is an Essential Fatty Acid blend containing flax

and some other things and I also took Evening Primrose Oil and some Vit E. So

it isn't about it being too isolated in my system.

DHA is supposed to be phenomenal for repairing nerves, great for neuropathy, and

great for the brain, so it would seem to be a good thing for me. But it felt

like it was overstimulating my nervous system. But then again, that may be

because mine has been so low functioning that normal feels tense to me. A

friend of mine with cfs also took it at the same time and said she felt the same

nervous system tightness as well.

It wasn't like anxiety, it was like your nervous system was making a fist and

you couldn't relax it. Like you wanted to relax your stomach muscles and

couldn't.

Anyone else use it and have any clue about any of this?

Thanks,

Donna
