Guest guest
I ran into this while surfing. Anybody ever heard of this unit and whether it's of any therapeutic use? The price is $3,995.00. I know someone with RSD who has to drive to another state every month for HBOT and it's not covered by insurance. This unit uses ambient air, but they only sell it with a doctor's (or other medical professional's) prescription. This mild portable hyperbaric chamber is designed to help increase the uptake of oxygen in the body. Users of hyperbaric therapy MAY experience increased stamina and endurance, rapid recovery from fatigue, reduced stress and anxiety, relief of muscle and tendon aches and pains, improved skin and body tone, increased respiratory capacity, and improved sleep. Portable; perfect for travel. Deflates to fit into a convenient bag for storage or travel. Assembles and disassembles in minutes. Large view window for occupant comfort. Inflates and pressurizes to 3 pounds per square inch (psi) in 4 to 5 minutes. Constant pressure at 3 psi. Occupant can easily exit from the chamber by deflating and unzipping from the inside. Does not require any special training, maintenance, or license to operate. Uses household power supply. Does not require special wiring. Uses filtered ambient air only. The current scope of indications approved for the mild portable hyperbaric chamber by the Food and Drug Administration are for oxygen deficiency from acute mountain sickness (AMS), also known as high-altitude sickness. The primary cause of AMS is the body's inability to obtain sufficient oxygen from the air at a reduced atmospheric pressure, which leads to oxygen deprivation. (Nausea, breathlessness, insomnia, altered mental state, cyanosis or ashen color, severe headache, anorexia, mild lassitude, extreme fatigue, dizziness, and reduced urine output are some signs and symptoms of AMS.) At pressures of 2 to 4 psi, the mild hyperbaric chamber provides an environment that simulates the pressures at lower elevations. The increased atmospheric pressure increases the oxygen pressure presented to the blood, plasma, and body tissues. Per FDA requirements, this product can be purchased only under the recommendation of a physician or health care practioner (MD, DO, DC, nurse practitioner, etc.). Comfort House must receive by mail the original written recommendation (on the provider's letterhead or prescription form) before we can process your order.
