Guest guest
Hi - I've just joined the listserve, and would like to introduce myself. My name is Salmon, and I'm an registered dietian and personal trainer in Fairbanks, Alaska. (how's that for name association convenience - Alaskan Salmon Dietitian :) ) I'm in private practice in Fairbanks (population of about 60,000 people in interior Alaska). Although I've done a few consults for patients considering bariatric surgery, I've not been particularly involved with presurgical or postsurgical instruction to this point. I've attended a few lectures, one of which was during my ADA Adult Weight Management certification course. This last week, I was contacted by a local surgeon who would like to consider using my services instead of the hospital's for presurgical instruction of patients who have already been selected for surgery. Sounds like we're jumping right in with a 15 year old as the first consult. So, I'm in the process of gathering up educational materials and resource s to guide these patients in the right direction. I'm coming up short on locating a PENN state website that is supposed to have additional patient resources available for use. It was supposed to have a shopping list on it, among other things. ( Schimmel Matson presented it at the Adult Wt. Mgt course). If anyone knows of this or other good website information, and/or how to contact to obtain it, I'd appreciate it. Look foward to " talking " again sometime soon!
