Hi everyone! I have just read the book and was beginning my first

challenge when I ran into my first hurdle...I have to have my gall

bladder removed this week! I just gave birth to my son 2 months ago

and thought this would be a great way to get in shape but this

obstacle will undoubtedly cause a problem. Any suggestions on what I

can do after my surgery? I have heard that I will be out for 6 weeks

and I just can't imagine postponing my start for that long, after all

I just got totally psyched to start! Please help!

Hey Jill...

First...welcome here!

I would first see what your dr. has in mind as fas as if you are

medivally cleared for exercise and any " don'ts " .

I had a strange removal of my gall bladder (the gall bladder was all

healthy) but my liver got stuck and they removed the gall bladder

sinc ethey were there...BUT, I remember being very sore in the

abodmen and right below the sterum. If you have the easy pluck of

the gall bladder, you will have 4 locations sites and the torso does

get sore and the little tiny winy scar areas are also. I remember

bending over at the waist (like to tie your shoe) hurt...but after

the soreness goes away, the body needs the rest. It is intrusive

surgery and you will need to take it easy. You can do a modified

BFL. Sit ups may have to wait. Heavy lifting (like a squat or

anything) that the core balances you may have to wait. I would see

what the doc says and then take it slow...the stomach is effected by

other muscle groups so I would just go by how you feel. I will tell

you that the old bellybutton location does get itchy and just wait

until you try to button your pants :) In fact, find the old sweats

or any pants that have a soft close...and any pants that hit above or

below your bellybutton! :)

Good luck on your surgery...and good luck with BFL. You are in the

right place as there are some incredible women here for inspiration,

information, or just helping along the way.

P.S. Brocolli may be something hard to digest when you are gb-

less...by the way...I had a hand ful of people tell me that but I eat

it and no problems...
