Guest guest
Herbal Healing Salve - for cuts and scrapes - author unknown to me 2 oz dried comfrey leaves 1 oz dried calendula flowers 2 cups olive oil 1 oz pure beeswax 4 drops tea tree essential oil (I used 15 drops) 4 drops lavender essential oil (I used 15 drops) Heat herbs in oilve oil over low heat for about 5 hours - do not let the oil boil or bubble - a crock pot on the lowest temperature setting should be suitable for heating the mixture (that's what I used) - if the lowest setting is too hot, turn off the heat once it has warmed the oils - it should keep warm for at least an hour - then repeat the process as needed) After cooking, strain out the herbs while the oils is still warm - I started with cheesecloth and then used coffee filter in strainer - Place 1 1/4 cups of the herb oil in a pan, add grated beeswax and heat enough to melt wax - add essential oils and mix - pour the salve into widemouthed jars - store at room temperature - " Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.
