In total honesty, the closest to that 'appley' scent that I've seen is from annual tansy..tanecetum anuum (NOT vulgare...you don't want to use that.) we've a new matricaria (german chamomile) from an English distiller that has a slightly 'apple' scent to it as well...but you HONESTLY need samples... the difference between either matricarias (german) or anthemis (roman) is huge, depending on the location grown and the art of the distiller... get samples of each, from several suppliers.
