*I* would put a bit of EO in the water for the general benefits of the

oil... spirit lifting for the midwinter doldrums, or antibacterial or

decongestant, whatever the folks in your family seem to need.

the fact that it will probably keep bacteria from growing in the warm water

is an added benefit...the REAL benefit is from the aromatic vapours in the air.
