Guest guest
This does not make sense to me and even if it does break down, are the amino acids going to disappear into thin air? Maybe I'm forgetting something from science, but even when you cook an egg, the protein breaks down from the heat, but that doesn't mean you don't get your protein from the egg any longer. Maybe the drink doesn't taste very good after standing for more than half an hour and that's why people are encouraged to drink it sooner. Who knows??? -----Original Message-----From: Sams [mailto:jenniferjsams@...]Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2004 7:57 AM Subject: Reminder about ProteinThis was forwarded to our discussion group. Guest guest
I don't have any specific references, but I recall that in long-term care that opened containers of protein supplements (from Ross, etc) were good for up to 24 hours. Guest guest
Hello group, This was discussed on march 19th 2004 with some interesting input from a food scientist (husband of an RD on the listserv). Take a look back in the archive. Corey Filbert \In , " Sams " <jenniferjsams@h...> wrote: > This was forwarded to our discussion group. Guest guest
Even it it did " break down " you would be left with peptides and amino acids. So you would still get your protein in. Not that I'm buying the premise ... Reminder about Protein This was forwarded to our discussion group. Guest guest
"good" refers to food safety (ie bacterial growth), not protein degradation, I presume -Sue Manchester Reminder about Protein This was forwarded to our discussion group.
