Guest guest
The fusion of my wrist which I fell and suffered a closed compound compression fracture on 2/24 went well. My surgery was done in Dallas this Wed 3/5, and lasted 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. I have a plate, screws, and staples in my arm, which is heavily bandaged. My fingers and even my upper arm are still very swollen and discolored. Pain control has been a real problem. I was sent home with Oxycontin + Phenegren pills, however I didn't get to keep them in my stomach long enough to get relief. The dr. phoned in some Talwin NX for me, which I can tolerate better stomach wise and it helps to take the edge off the pain. I can't think of any other way to describe what my wrist feels like except that it's as though someone is holding a branding iron to it. I go back to the dr on 3/11. I appreciate everyone's love and prayers. I'm a tough little soldier, and with God's help, I'll live through this. I'm sure my wrist will heal much faster and better this way than if I hadn't had it fused. I'm just certain there's a horse buried underneath this room full of manure!
