Here is an easy math breakdown of how much you couldbe/should be

eating at each meal after you know your BMR (as Stasia noted):

*if you arent seeing results by the palm/fist method then paying more

attention to the details of your food intake is the way to go*

are in a carb? Ex: if I have a piece of chicken and a sweet potato,

how do I know how many gr of carbs and gr of protein I'm getting?

You can check in calorie counters/food books, fitday.com,

calorieking.com or read the packaging if it is packaged food. Just

make sure to read the portion size also.

Heer are a few links to help you out:

As mentioned http://www.fitday.com is a free program to help you

track calories and nutrients - proteins/carbs/fats.

Also a free download - great program! At http://www.dietpower.com

that not only helps you track calories & nutrients, but also includes

your exercise and water intake.

Then use online sources like this ABC version of common foods you may

be eating - breaks them down into protein/carbs/fats for you:

http://www.ntwrks.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm

One of my faves - Fastfood Facts at: http://www.kenkuhl.com/fastfood/

And how to read labels on food products might give you some good

hints: http://vm.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/foodlab.html

Sometimes just tracking a few days worth of common meals you eat will

give you the info you need to see if you are on track - not to get

overly into every morsel you eat mind you, but when you dont see the

results you want, you may wat to get more into the details of your

food nutrients - nutritional education I call it - to steer you in

the right direction.

*nutrition is the fuel, exercise is the spark - without both in the

right amounts, there can be no flame, no results*
