The only thing that ever worked for the pain for me was codein! Sorry!

To help kill the infection gargle with salt water and hydrogen peroxide and

water alternately.

Here Is a herbal medicine recipe out of one of my books...Hope it helps. A

gargle or sips of sage, thyme,or lemon tea--sweetened with honey,if necessary.

Will alleviate the discomfort. God Bless and you get to feeling better.

To help with pain, gargle with warm water and a drop or two of clove EO- start

with a single drop, though, for clove is a hot oil;^)

Our youngest son used this for throat pain successfully, in fact, it's what my

Grandma used for toothaches long ago.

Our family always uses Grape Fruit Seed Extract. We use a couple

of drops in a cup of warm water and gargle. It's also good to swallow

a little of it (very bitter tasting though!) Grapefruit Seed Extract is known

for its antimicrobial qualities and kills strep and staff. Also, when we just

start to feel a sore throat coming on we spray Herb Pharm's Propolis/Echinacea

herbal throat spray on it. Sage tea is good, too.

Hope this helps!

I am not a Dr. but one must use an antibiotic for streep. Untreated streep

can lead to dangerous complications. This is not a play around with matter,

especially with your children.

That is true. strep can lead to rheumatic (excuse the spelling) fever. It

was me that has it, if it were one of the little ones they would have been

rushed to the Dr. It turns out that I have tonsillitis. I went to the DR

today and they did the 'rapid test,' lol. The DR said she still felt that it

was strep by the appearance of it. DH and the boys are getting a kick out of

the lack of voice I have. They put me on antibiotics. I look forward to

waking up one day without pain! I was hoping I would get lucky over the

weekend and something would kick but no luck :-( I can't remember the name,

but there is supposed to be an herbal thing out there that starts with an E

that is supposed to be or be like an antibiotic. I had wanted to ask her

about it. I guess that is where voice mail comes in, lol.

Thanks,

Dana :-)

Echinacea (excuse my spelling, too) is very good for colds, if you catch

them before strep sets in. There is a product called " Cold-Eeze " that

contains it and Zinc and they really make you feel better in a day or so.

Good luck, and take care of yourself!!

That would be Echinacea. Echinacea and Golden Seal are an excellent immune and

antibiotic you can get these in capsules or Tintures . I find that that the

tinctures work faster and I give It to our grandchildren when they are sick in

about an inch of juice three times aday. Hope this helps God Bless and get well

fast.

Sharon :)

Also gargle with sea salt three times aday

Hi,

We use Olive Leaf Extract when we get sick or if we feel we are getting

sick. From what I've read it is like a natural antibiotic. We also use

something from Wisdom of the Ages, called Advantage Liquid Concentrate. It's

antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It has Grapefruit seed extract,

Jasmine tea, and green tea. It tastes nasty but is great for sore throats,

allergies, etc.

I hope you feel better soon.

Did you notice the OT written in the subject title? That is so others could

see it was off topic.

That's why they had the courtesy to write " OT " in the subject line, for " off

topic " ....

Instead of whining about all these off topic posts, how about contributing

something worthwhile?

Just a thought....

No, not at all. But that is why the OT is in the subject line, for off

topic, that way people can pick and chose what to read.

Was it just me that read that the person who asked this question could

not get to her doctor till Wednesday cause he was not going to be in the

office???? Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't recall that anyone ever

said it was her CHILDREN that were sick, it was the poster herself who

was sick and wanted some relief until she could get to see her doctor.

Just for your information, I make toiletries and soap. I am also studying

to for my certification to be an herbalist and an Aromatherapist, so I do

not see that her question was all that off topic. True, it was not about

making toiletries, but she did have the courtesy to state that it was an

OT question. As previously stated I would rather someone ask then to use

herbs and/or essential oils blindly, which can cause MUCH more harm than

good if used incorrectly! (a coworker of mine was using an aromathrapy

treatment for her headache and had a terrible reaction to the eo's. I

asked her about it and the oils she used were the correct ones, and she

had applied them to the correct areas, but she did not know that she

needed to dilute them first! If she had asked me I would have told her,

but she thought it was a stupid question. She had to take benadryl and

use a topical cream from the doctor for days to get the rash down enough

for her to not try and claw her skin off!)

As for OT questions, I have no problem with them, if I'm not interested I

delete it.

This is strictly my $0.02 and make no claims to be the voice of anyone

else.
