Guest guest
Hi, and all - I've been lurking on this knowledgeable list for a while and finally have something to contribute. , I got my amalgam fillings removed last Spring, in 4 sessions of two teeth each time over the course of 6 weeks (if I had it to do over again I'd probably do one tooth every couple of months, but that's another story). Two of the four sessions left me suicidally depressed. The first time, it happened during the drilling (I was giving myself Reiki and feeling just fine; then hit overwhelming despair, in about one breath's time). The only protocol I was using for removing the mercury was Chinese herbs in a mixture made for me by the master herbalist who has helped me greatly in the past. It took a couple of weeks for that depression to lift and it was truly awful. When this happened again, (it hit on the way home from the dentist's office, between one stoplight and the next), I got smarter. Drove directly to the nearby acupuncture college clinic, explained my dilemma, and got a treatment on the spot. Half-way through the treatment the worst of the depression lifted in a noticeable way. The six months following that were actually much worse than the low-grade mercury toxicity I'd been living with for some time while I saved up the money for the removals. It seemed that every few days I'd experience another " dump " of stored mercury into my system and would have brainfog, sleep difficulties, flulike symptoms, lethargy and depression. I was not strong enough and did not have the money for IV chelation so it's been a long haul. What got me through was Reiki; the Chinese herbal mixture although I found I did better on a lower dose than originally prescribed; regular acupuncture (available at low cost in the clinic at the acupuncture college); and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and/or TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) on my own. These are energy therapies in which, by tapping or holding on several of your own meridians in a specific way, you can clear or at least lift much emotional and physical distress. I'm assuming members of this list are familiar with these techniques (although the archives are so huge I admit I haven't searched) so won't write about them in detail here. But I do think TAT especially was incredibly helpful, as I used it to change my internal relationship to the mercury still in my body. After that session I could feel the difference, both physically and in maintaining relief from the depression. Both techniques also work beautifully well for anxiety. I'll be happy to give references for these techniques if anyone's interested, either onlist or backchannel. They made the difference for me during a truly horrible period. They're easily learned and self-administered; that empowerment really helped my sense of powerlessness and despair at each new episode of awfulness.
