Throw out those zinc lozenges and get a zinc nasal gel if you want to

shorten the duration of your cold.

According to results ,published in the October edition of the Ear,

Nose and Throat Journal, an over the counter zinc gel spray, called

ZICAM, knocked a week off the cold's stay and reduced the severity of

symptoms.

The ionic zinc in Zircam has been previously tested as an oral cold

remedy with mixed results, but in a nasal spray it appears to work.
