Guest guest
I was told at the hospital by the consultant that 90% of cholesterol is made by the liver and 10% by the food we eat. Which is right? . > > Ed With this video they have left out the bit abou the brain making > 50% of your body's cholesterol - do you think that they don't know? > Shall we tell them? I took my BP this morning and keep in mind I have not taken my BP meds for two weeks after the bad reaction I had when my BP shot up to 165 over 107 ... that is not good. My BP this morning was 124 over 84 ... much better and all did was start taking the supplement Hawthorn again which had not taken for several months ... but will now every day. I also taking nottakinase as an enzyme that dissolves a blood clot. It is used in Japan as clot buster. Guest guest
ed, I've been trying to reply to this for weeks, aol/aim keeps messing up my address and it bounces. But I was concerned when I saw the video, because it parrots the old line that we've been trying to educate people about: that cholesterol is Bad and statins are good. Guest guest
<<Vegetables and fruits should not be mixed together.>>Why not? I throw some veggies into my fruit smoothies all the time. Often vegetables ARE the fruit of a plant...we just call them veggies because they don't taste as sweet. Veggie/fruit is an arbitrary division...why not put them together in a dish? --PS The video had no sound over half the time...?? Guest guest
Fruits/vegs mixed---I had heard that years ago as well.... however, who knows what to believe any more... I had also used flaxseed, chia seed and hemp regularly and then was told that if you have problems with triglycerides stay away from all of them.... and had also been told that people with family histories of breast cancer should also not used flaxseed products!!! Anyhow,I have problems with yeast so don't use much fruit at all... I found for my green smoothies when I kept them simple they usually tasted best--- my most decent one contained spinach or kale or baby bok choy, with celery and cucumber--and, if I have it 1/2 an avocado (is that fruit or veg??) mellow flavor, not so grassy as some... for the liquid I have been making up batches of green teas (had been given lots as gifts over the past couple years!!) that I keep in the fridge and then use them instead of juices or ice (I can't do freezing cold drinks)... that works well for the most part. I have been watching some of videos where you can make juice from the VM so I'm going to try that... had a juicer a number of years ago and sold it, but am now reconsidering???? yay or nay....have still to decide. Aside from all this I came across an article yesterday that sounds interesting-- making your own energy drink--it says the fruit, herbs and veggies deliver a refreshing mix of vitamins and antioxidants....Does not call for blending but I *may* try it... sounds tasty 10 cups water 1/2 cucumber thinly sliced 1 lemon, thinly sliced 1/4 cup basil leaves shredded 1/3 cup mint leaves shredded Stir in pitcher in fridge overnite and serve... Re: good video This guy used WAY too many ingredients in this smoothie. It is not good to combine so many ingredients at one time. Guest guest
An avocado is a fruit, technically a berry fruit, I just read in a well sourced book. I have never heard of flax or chia being a problem with triglycerides, but years ago they said fruits caused high triglycerides (no longer true). Things do change.
