Guest guest
Hi Carol, I am new to this list, so there may be others who normally would answer this question, like Marge for example. I am an Aromatherapy Practitioner, Educator and a purest. The question of whether to use EO or FO will greatly depend on your end result, your position on the environment and chemical sensitivities. FO's are cheaper, have a consistent smell and tend to be stronger. EO's, from a qualified source, are botanical, harmonious with our bodies and the planet...however they can be more expensive. I could go on, but, I'll stop here. Guest guest
The main difference I have found with Essential Oils vs. Fragrance Oils is the use. I have several people and pets I make things for that are so very sensitive and allergic to things that I would not attempt to give them anything with a Fragrance Oil. I have a sister that is so allergic and such a " purist " I would not attempt to give her anything that wasn't just EO's that are compatable with her system! Plus so many EO's out there have beneficial and therapeutic sides to them. Speaking for one of those I use for pets that ward off pests! So to me even though they are more expensive they are definitely worth it! Thats my opinion and experience. I have been using them far longer than I even began making my own tolietries also.
