Guest guest
I had a patient who reported a 'thrush-like' mouth (bad taste, white coating on the tongue) after drinking Boost Breeze and Ensure in the first week after surgery. I have had this happen only once or twice with other patients (over a 2 year time period), one actually had an oral yeast infection. This patient stopped drinking these, switched to Problend 55 and Designer Whey and has had no further problems.... Has anyone else experienced any similar symptoms, or know what may have caused this? I typically attribute the taste changes to ketosis...I would appreciate any ideas!!! Also, could someone post the info about how to help with the Bariatric Subunit group of the Wt Mgmt group? Thanks, Stacey Frost, RD
Guest guest
frosta- these situations may have been secondary to sugar content/sensitivity-thereby causing a good environement for yeast to grow. Guest guest
Is Boost Breeze sugar free? I don't recommend Boost, Ensure, Glucerna, Slim Fast or other such products because they are "meal replacements" and not protein supplements, am I correct? Most of these product contain approx. 220-240 calories and are loaded with sugar, the SF products have about 9 grams of fat. -----Original Message-----From: md-gonzales@...
