Guest guest
Hi, I just made a small batch of basic soap, well I tried anyway, and something went horrible wrong. As soon as I poured the lye/water solution into the melted oils, the whole mixture started to foam up. I had to put it outside because it started bubbling over the top of the pot. The whole mixture turned to this mucky foam stuff and I could not save it--there was no soap, just foam!!! If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the help. ( Yes, I am obviously new to this--only my 3rd batch). This is the recipe: 22oz olive oil 8.5oz coconut oil 12oz veg shortening 5.375oz lye 16oz water 2.25tsp freesia fr oil (didnt get to this obviously) Thanks for all the help, Bess
