Everything you are talking about is THYROID!!!!!! (diagnosis, including

PCOS, Tachycardia, hypertension, depression/anxiety, gastrointestinal

issues and allergy related asthma and of course wight gainz(I am

sure realted to pbllod sugar issues) You thyroid is your master

gland! When you are hypo everything slows down. Joint pain goes in with

that. So some of the joint pain might be hypo related not RA

related. (Not saying you couldn't have RA) Please take a look at a thyroid

check list. If a doctor missed this, they need to go back to medical

school. And yes, tachycardia is NOT just a hyperthyroid is it

Hypothyroid too..often related to adrenal fatigue(but often just from being

hypo. But most doctors miss this part. It's old school knowledge.

Tests to get run: TSH, Free T3, Free T4, antibodies, female hormones,

iron, ferritin, CBC and am cortisol.

Hi Melynda:

I read all your e-mails, and think of you often. I will pray that this

new round of decreasing your meds. works for you. You have such a hard life

with RA, and hope things improve for you. You sure need some positive things to

happen to you. RA is a very tough disease to battle. I thank GOD that there

are wonderful Rheumy's for us, and all the help they can give us to try to have

a functioning life. I too, take Pred. 5 mg. a day, but have taken much more in

a bad flare-up. I also inject MTX 1x a week, 8mg., and they have both been a

big help to me. Also take Sulfasalazine and Placquenil. I have not taken any

thing else, but sometimes I do take prescrip. pain meds. I am now awaiting for

the results of MRI's on both feet and hands. I have discussed the bio-logical

drugs with my Rheumy, but not ready for that yet. I am scared to death about

them with my med. history.

I know being on line, and being in this wonderful support group makes a

diff. in our lives. I too, am glad I found it. I don't write in often, but I

read the e-mails each day. Keep the faith, and remember, I do care. God Bless

You Always, and in all ways. Barbara

I started on Plaquenil too, but after being on it for

a couple of years, it began to not be enough so we

added 3000mgs of Sulfasalazine. My next step is

Methotrexate or Enbrel. I do take an NSAID too. If I

eliminate it or miss a dose the pain level really

shoots up. Keeping you in my prayers too! I hope the

Plaquenil keeps doing great for you:)

I was wondering if anyone has taken the drug called filgastrim,

it was suggested I talk with my hem doc about it. As after this last

while I am very low on ANC as well as white cells.

http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=2588

this is where I was directed to read about it. I do hate taking extra drugs,

after all these years just taking a drug for cml. also he mentioned we may in

the future talk about a mini-transplant. I am very leary

of that, as I still feel not all bad after the Pneumonia,

they took another 2 liters of fluid, which makes 4 liters

all together in the past two weeks, boy do I feel much beter

being able to breath. I was hoping that if anyone has taken

this filgastrim, to tell me about any bad effects or even good ones

thank in advance
