Hi Jan..

Thanks for replying to my post!! I was beginning to think that I was crazy because noone was replying...making me think that I was the only one with this problem.

Your post was VERY helpful to me. I used to have to take antibiotics before dental work because I have a heart mumur of sorts. Last year my cardiologist told me that I no longer needed to take them before dental work. He said that new guidelines show that it was not necessary. Im totally confused as far as all of that goes now.

Well I will run it by my dentist in the morning. Im afraid to do anything that could make the liver worse when I have been trying so hard to get the numbers to go down.

I also think that its an excellent idea for your doctor to "outline" good drugs..bad drugs for you. I would find that extremely helpful in my case to.

I think that I have to rethink my choice of doctors at this point.

I'm sorry to hear about your swelling, but I am glad you were able to see a

doctor close to home. I've heard that you must be very, very patient about

the swelling! (Like THAT is easy!) Best wishes for the swelling to go away

Thank you, Ann! I know I need to be more patient about the swelling

but it does get frustrating. My tummy was flat the morning I woke

up in the hospital. I miss it.

But, since the big scare is over, I'm going to be thankful that it

wasn't anything serious and wait for the swelling to go away in it's

own good time.

Ann, thank you for your kindness. Sorry I've disappeared lately. I

had a convention to attend last week. Sugar is stable and even

doing a bit better now so we're hopeful that she's still got a

little time left. I appreciate all the prayers and positive

thoughts!

Hi Kym! Wow! Your turn is almost here! I'm very excited for you!

Thank you so much for all your kind words! I can't wear a shirt

that shows my flat tummy yet because it's still round. Ugh! I'm

desperately trying to lose some more weight, hoping that will help.

Also, my gas problems have come back with a vengeance. So, I've

been doing protein drinks for the last couple of days and it's

helping with the gas. Now we'll see if it helps with the weight

loss. :)

I can't wait to see YOUR after photos! Take care of yourself while

you're in Brazil and be sure to let us know how you're doing!

Hi Kym!

Okay, I'm on the group for one more day! I just couldn't stay off

it today. I'd miss you guys too much!

I really don't want a revision if I can help it. I'm not sure it's

my upper or lower abs since I'm not really sure of the difference.

I just know that I still have a very round stomach. It just doesn't

look like I had a tummy tuck. Those who have seen my tummy agree.

What I'm hoping for is some liposuction. It's not like the fat

that's still there is real flabby anymore so I think lipo would

probably do it. I'll let you know what he says.

Me? No, I haven't been sick until Tuesday of this week. You must

be thinkin' of someone else. But, thank you for the concern! :)

I'm feeling better and I'm sure I'll be back to normal in a couple

of days. It's just a cold, nothing serious.

How are your legs? Still having pain?

Hi Tracey!

I cannot tell you how happy I was to see you posting this calorie count. I

have been really worried about how much I have been eating, and I don't think I

have gotten that high, so I feel better. I do find the fewer carbs I eat,

the less I crave them (but you couldn't prove that by the way I have eaten in

the last two weeks)! LOL

Thanks for the boost about exercise, too!

Thanks Jo! I was pretty excited myself about those 5 pounds!

I know it sounds weird when I describe my nose. I guess I do have a

bridge but it's not much of one and just doesn't hold up my

glasses. As it happened, I didn't get to the DMV because I forgot

to bring the letter with me. Oh well, I'll go on Friday instead. I

did have a great time yesterday, though! I bought new panties,

several bras, a pair of pants (in large, not extra-large!), and lots

of fun stitching supplies. I was on a real shopping high! LOL!

Thanks, Tracey, for being the voice of reason and sanity. I know that we

will absorb more, but it is always nice to be reminded that we can't just eat

mindlessly (hmmm, I'm glad the holidays only come around for about a month)!

Hi Ann!

Actually, at a Santee support meeting, Dr. K mentioned that the

further out we get, the more calories we absorb so that's one of the

reasons I'm trying really hard to back off. I'm doing the low carb

thing again today with the same result. Not nearly as hungry. It's

such a relief!

Me, too! I am back (as of this morning) on a better eating regimen and it

feels so good. I decided to wait until today (old dieting habit) so I could eat

with ricotta cheese, salsa, eggs, cheddar, Romano and parmesan cheeses -- topped

with pork rinds for the crunch. I don't know that anyone in the world would

like it except for me, but I wanted something high in protein and I only had

cheese and eggs at the time, so I was experimenting. It didn't turn out spicy

enough but it was pretty good and I have lots for tomorrow.

Hi Ann!

Sure! I'm happy to share the recipe! You're sounds pretty yummy, I

must say! I might put french fried onions on it rather than the

pork rinds but then I wouldn't get as much protein.

TOMATO CASSEROLE:

Two pounds roma tomatoes

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chopped parsley to taste

Fresh marjoram to taste or 1 teaspoon dried oregano

One teaspoon paprika

One cup crumbled feta cheese

One cup dried bread crumbs

Brush casserole dish with olive oil. Layer half the tomatoes, add

seasonings to taste, layer half the feta cheese. Repeat layer. Top

with breadcrumbs and paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Pretty simple! I'll be making it tomorrow and I'll let you know how

it turns out. I can hardly wait! :)

BTW, congratulations on avoiding those cookies! I can't resist

fresh baked cookies! I'm so impressed!

That does sound good! But, you didn't do a pinch of sugar. My Italian next

door neighbour (Who lived to be 89 and Was an old woman when I was born!)

said you never cook with tomatoes unless you add a pinch of sugar to cut the

acid.
