As far as raw almonds in the USA it is true that USDA in response to an outbreak of salmonella with untreated nuts requires almonds to be pasteurized. A federal judge recently upheld the USDA position.

link below is where I get my almonds...20lb..They are truly raw and organic..you can buy lower amounts. B. This is the cheapest price I've found.
