Guest guest
i am wondering if this thread is about a specific company selling 'phoney' EO's? i have been putting out a big penny and i missed the begining of this who are yall discussing if you don't mind me asking. i am asking because i respect marge clarks opinion on this matter and if she seems to have reservation about a EO dealers practices i want to stay away ttfn, tamika

Guest guest
Safflower oil? hmmm. Wasn't there a negative thread about safflower oil? I had purchased a salt scrub from Garden Botanika. It was expensive ($20) but thought that due to macadamia nut oil and some other nice sounding oils. I just used apricot oil in mine. Barb J N. Idaho (just learned there's a difference of North and other) heh. Guest guest
I was just in the B & BW store the other day. They had a new large display and section set up just for their Essential Oils, Massage Oils and Aromatherapy stuff. The one by me had a large section dedicated for this. In fact all of their Essential Oils were in the base of Safflower Oil. Believe it or not but I do know some crafters/hobbiests that also make far more tolietries and sell their stuff that use the oils from Bath & BW! One lady that even teaches classes on making tolietries that told me to go to B & BW. I had never thought to go their before for it because I always bought my EO's and Aromatherapy products from a large Health Food store I like here. I find it interesting there is such a variety in what people use. To me I would think the ones in a base oil would be " inferior " ?? But I don't know now if that is correct or just my judgement? Guest guest
Cat, Ah hah! That could be why ............ I had to make a quick gift for a friend that loves vanilla and just bought B & BW vanilla for $15.00 for the little bottle. I noticed I had to use quite a bit and it was sort of diluted in the excess oil. The bath gel & salts came out lovely but a tad more oilier than what I was used to. Vanilla is not a scent I had because I am sort of picky on " vanilla " smells. Luckily theirs was not heavy at all (probably because it is so diluted) Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Hi Cate: What B & BW's are selling are called " extended " oils, usually 3% or so of essential oil in a base of a bland vegetable oil. They are expensive considering what you are getting...highly diluted e.o.'s. You can make your own blends far cheaper! I was also interested in this line and managed to find out this: Awake Line: Grapefruit and Peppermint grapefruit e.o. peppermint e.o. mandarin orange (tangerine) e.o. spearmint e.o. Orange and Ginger orange e.o. ginger e.o. coriander e.o. spearmint e.o. Bergamot and Coriander coriander e.o. bergamot e.o. lemon e.o. orange e.o. Relax Line: Eucalyptus and Spearmint eucalyptus e.o. spearmint e.o. peppermint e.o. orange e.o. Cedarwood and Sage clary sage e.o. cedarwood e.o. sandalwood e.o. lavender e.o. Blue Lavender and Palmarosa lavender e.o. palmarosa e.o. rosemary e.o. basil e.o. Sleep Line: Lavender and Vanilla lavender e.o. vanilla absolute rosemary e.o. clary sage e.o. Sweet Bay and Rose bay (laurel) e.o. rose e.o. cardamom e.o. ginger e.o. Chamomile and Neroli chamomile (anthemis) e.o. neroli e.o. patchouli e.o. sandalwood e.o. There were also extracts of balm mint etc. listed, but they didn't seem to contribute to the actual fragrance. Hope this helps! Cat >^-.-^< > I was just in the B & BW store the other day.
