I got your site from Soapmamking Chat Forum.

I would like to get a recipe for a lotion bar or a cream for my mother who

has cea. Every so often it flares up like acne and scales up

afterwards. I made a cream using 1 part honey 1 part cocoa butter 1 part

coconut oil 1 part bees wax 1 part olive oil. She and i both thought it was

a bit greasy at first. After rubbing it in more than 3 or 4 mins it was ok.

I know there is no cure for cea but i would like to have a lotion bar

or a cream that will aid in the flare up. The cream I made didnt aggravate

it any but was a bit greasy. If you have any thoughts on this please let me

know.

Many Thanks

Joe

I have rosacea too. I've found that there aren't really too many

things that I can use to reduce or prevent flare-ups, however, if I'm

really careful with what I use my face I can prevent irritating it

further. I generally keep my flare-ups controlled by watching what I

eat (spicy foods cause flares) and 'try' to keep my stress level down

(yeah - right!). The rosacea is one of the reasons I originally got

into making my own stuff. I found I couldn't use very much of what

was out there commercially without having problems.

We are all sensitive to different things - even between those of us

with rosacea. I think the best thing would be for her to determine

what ingredients irritate her the least (or hopefully not at all) by

the process of elimination and use those to formulate her cream. I've

found I can use Shea butter, almond oil, grapeseen oil, eWax and

stearic acid all fairly successfully. I use those to make my cream.

I'm still searching for a preservative that doesn't cause me grief so

I make small amounts at a time and they stay in the fridge to prevent

buggies from growing and causing more problems.

Good luck!!
