Guest guest
Stay off the scale-it is evil!! Have you taken any other measurments? Such as with a tape measure, body fat %, pictures. If so have they changed? How are your clothes fitting? How is your energy level compared to before BFL? You are only in the 2nd week. Give it some time. Guest guest
--- ..hi! I want to tell you something and you have got to believe me okay? others will tell you this too. if you are going by the book..you are gaining muscle. do not..I repeat..do not step on a scale! scales are not a good measure of progress with the body for life program. in bfl you have your body fat checked or do your measurements..or even better..take pics! pics tell the real story and you can see a difference. I am sure you have heard muscle does weigh more than fat. and the more muscle the better for your fat loss...so maybe you can rejoice in a scale weight going up! it means..if you are doing all you can do..you are putting on the muscle you indeed want to gain. it is a good thing. I will tell you a couple of years ago I weighed 190 lbs..but was only a size 14 and 22 percent body fat. now I am only 5 foot 3. so to weigh that much on my body frame seems huge doesn't it? well it is huge if I have no muscle and most of the weight was fat. but as you can see..my percent of body fat was 22 percent. you would think at 190lbs I would be like 30 percent or higher with my short height. and I would be a size 12 at like 175 or 180 lbs. that is a small size to weigh so much.mucsle takes up less room but weighs more. it is like weights compared to cotton. if you have a big wad of cotton it looks bigger than the weights cause it is all fluffy. but it weighs less..and the weight is more compact but weighs more..that is like fat and muscle. trust me..this is the way it works. I think you really need to get rid of your scale. that is the best thing you can do for yourself right now. take pics and body fat..that will show you amazing progress. I have not weighed myself since january..and do not intend to till this next january. and when I go to the doctors office I just turn around and don't look at my weight...lol! okay..I really hope this helped..and really..this is all the truth..as hard as it is to believe it really is. I hope you feel better now! just keep at what you are doing..you have it all right. Kathi In , " rednzhead " <rednzhead@m...> wrote: > Ok ladies I am on c1w2d2, and I have managed to gain 3 pounds. Guest guest
Kathi, Your words have made me feel much better. It is just so hard to see the weight gain when all our lives we have been taught thats what matters. In my journey I intend to change many habits and ways of thinking, maybe this can be my first big change, to understand its ok to gain if it is muscle and I feel better. I feel 100x's better than I did even a week ago, so that is enough for now. Thank you so much for your encouragement. > > Ok ladies I am on c1w2d2, and I have managed to gain 3 pounds. Guest guest
---Terrificness! see you feel better and I bet you are getting mass stronger too! that indicates you are putting on muscle. I know what you mean..we are taught all our lives about scales that seem to matter and that stupid stupidness chart they have out that says if you are soo and sooo tall you have to weigh this much..ugh! I am thinking times are changing a bit and more doctors are beggining to understand the difference between muscle weight and fat weight. a doctore I went to was astounded I weighed 160 when I was a size 10 at my height. I thought with him being a doctor he would understand the difference. he thought his scale was broken or off! lol..that was in the year 2000. so that can make a doctors visit a bit tough when your doctor can't understand that. but just know you are doing the right thing. and you are really really going to look great! Guest guest
I just got started again on BFL and am at 155 also! I am in a size 8 or 10. When I did it before I managed to get down to 130-135 and into a size 6 and some 4's and that wasn't even in a full 12 weeks; then I got hurt.(Not BFL related) BUT my weight went from 148 when I started before up somewhat before it started going down again. Like everyone is saying stay off the scale. I can't even count how many times I have freaked out and changed it around or actually quit due to not seeing my weignt go down fast enough or not at all or up at first. Enough times to make myself sick and angry for breaking self promises. What did I gain by doing that NOT A DAMN thing! I stayed at my unhappy 155 size 8-10! I finally managed to find my log book from the first time I did BFL and said huh I did the same thing before but I didn't give up. IT IS A MIND SET. I have a clean bill of health and started BFL to not give up or quit and start again...and again...and again...don't let those numbers freak you out take it from someone who has done it only to defeat myself! > Ok ladies I am on c1w2d2, and I have managed to gain 3 pounds. Guest guest
Welcome to the challenge, and calm down. Breath and go get a calendar. Where are you in your cycle? Were you dieting before you started BFL? Were you low carbing before? All of these things can attribute to water weight gain. Are you using creatine? I think that's the one that can cause some water retention. Are you drinking enough water? You should be peeing every 20 minutes just about. Guest guest
Trust BFL It will come off. Questions to think about. Are you drinking water? ARe you gaining muscle? Did you used to do no carb diets or starvation? Are you consuming a lot of salt or getting your period? THE SCALE IS EVIL!!! If you must way yourself commit to only way once a month on your freeday in the morning after you pee totally naked. Take measurements and have faith. It works. I swear it works but your body may need to adjust to the new way you are eating and the healthier food and fitness coming it's way Bridgette > Ok ladies I am on c1w2d2, and I have managed to gain 3 pounds.
