Hi!

I didn't do my workout first thing this morning, I

really needed to sleep in. I also debated on whether

or not to take a rest day since I'm VERY sore from

's Ultimate Bootcamp. Surprisingly, I'm sore in

my lower body - I thought it would be my upper body

that would be killing me - but it is definately the

lower body - butt, hamstrings, inner thighs. I feel

part of my upper body, but it is not as sore as my

lower body. yikes!

Anyway, I finally did decide to do a workout today so

I finished off this Tae Bo rotation with Tae Bo Fat

Blasting Cardio. This one is a 45 minute workout that

is more cardio focused. The workout does use the

" " bands, but they're not absolutely necessary -

if you wanted to add resistance you could always use

light weights or weighted gloves. This one wasn't as

much of a killer as some of the Get Ripped or Live

workouts, but it is is a notch above the Cardio

Circuit workouts.

Afterwards I tried out a library borrow - Rael Pilates

System 17 which is the intermediate level workout in

his series. I didn't love this workout. It could

have been my mood (I did it basically b/c I knew I had

to bring it back to the library and needed to at least

give it a try) or the soreness in my lower body but

this one didn't " grab " me. There are some very

positive things about this workout - good, detailed

cueing (especially breath instructions) and the DVD

has chapters for all 17 of the moves that are included

in this workout - so it would be very easy to focus in

on a move (what might have been nice is the ability

to pick and choose chapters to put together your own

workout). The pace is good for focusing on form - not

too fast but not too slow either. The instructor,

Rael, did have a loud voice and at times I felt he was

shouting, which sort of took away from the relaxation

aspects of Pilates that I like ( Burnett's is my

favorite for a relaxing session). I'm just not sure

I'd run out and get it, though, since there wasn't

anything " special " about it and I have plenty of

traditional Pilates workouts in my collection already.

I may give it another go at some point, it isn't due

back until Wed and I can always check it out again if

I feel like trying it again. Doing it did teach me

that I need to add more PIlates in, though, I'm

feeling " rusty " with my Pilates! Maybe I can

alternate short Pilates add-ons with short yoga

add-ons to my regular workouts.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day, New Year's Eve

and New Year's Day! I think I'm taking tomorrow off -

I'm sore and feel like I need a rest. I had a busy

day with cleaning and cooking, too! I feel guilty b/c

my DD ended up watching lots of movies on TV - I hate

to have her watch so much TV but I just had to get

some stuff done. She'll follow me around and " help "

but then she gets bored. Tomorrow we'll do lots of

playing - I hope it is at least sunny out so we can

get outside.

I may start up FitPrime on Monday with Vol 1 -

Metaboost with Heidi! If I'm still sore I may wait

until Tuesday, though!

Take care everyone!

Donna
