ARE THOSE CORDIZONE SHOTS THAT YOU HAVE ???;; I TOO HAVE ADVANCED DEGENERATIVE ARTHRITUS IN MY NECK ALONG WITH THE SPURS;; I HAVE SPURS ALL OVER MY BODY;; HAD SURGERY ON MY FOOT A FEW YEARS AGO;; WITH HEEL SPUR;;;; MOST OF THE TIME I JUST DEAL WITH THE PAIN UNLESS MY NECK GOES INTO CONTRACTIONS LIKE IT DOES SOMETIME;;NEVER HAVE HAD THE SHOTS YET ;;THEY WOULD HAVE TO GIVE THEM IN MY HIPS AND KNEES TOO AT TIMES;; LOL;; I HAVE A LOT OF PAIN THERE ALSO;; SOMETIMES FROM NECK TO FEET;;

Sorry you are having such a rough time right now CZ...I have spurs in my neck that cause a lot of problems along with the degenerative arthritis... When they give me the shots in my head and shoulders, it does help the neck a lot also and my arms... I hate the shots, but its quick pain that will go away and it takes most of the dreadful daily pain away for a while, so it is worth it... I just have to get up enough nerve to get it done ) Hope your birdies are feeling better soon along with you also...

helen my own dr is a knob. he is not going to tell me anything useful about my neck. they said something about trapped nerves causing pain in the ulner nerve or something. i think they want to do a release on my neck but most of it sounded like psychobabble to me. either which way they are not getting near me.my birds playgym has been packed away for months because they have all been too ill to go on it. or even the symptom free ones i do not want mixing amongst themselves because if anyone is not perfectly healthy then they will just reinfect them all.today my dr gave me some packs of clarithromycin and a prescription for vibramycin. he said that they will help my balance and clear up my nose.CZ

Hi Dorthy,

Yes, I do believe that is what they are called... They use a very small needle and jab it about every three inches in the affected area... I get mine done at the pain clinic at Toledo, Hospital... To me the shots are painful and do make me very dizzy, but in all they are well worth it as it takes the majority of the pain away for about 3 - 6 months and that is Heaven sent !!! Its a three month regiment of shots then you have to wait for at least another six months to get them again if needed... At least that is the way mine are done... Right now I can't get them as our insurance was changed through the plant and its as though I don't have any insurance, as they won't even pay for blood work right now or the lab draw, as they state it wasn't an emergency!!! So everything that I have to keep followed up has been put on hold and that means if I don't get my eye exam done soon, which is a field test, The doc may be taking me off the plaquinil and I will dread that, as then the pains and the all over body aches will get increasingly worse again and that will completely put me down ( The Lupus will get out of hand again, and I am not looking forward to that ( I don't even know why we have this insurance as they are paying for nothing so far! Sorry for venting, its just that we use to be covered for everything and now we are covered only for emergency care and then if only They deam if it was an emergency ( The specialist aren't even covered anymore and that is $200.00 a visit, so they have all been cancelled...

You ought to have your Dr. look into the shots to see if they could help you, as I know the everyday pains are terrible at times... We learn to cope with the pain, but some days it just causes the tears to run down the face as they hurt so bad (
