Guest guest
Mandi you are a mine of info! How do you do it? Yep, can certainly give it a go -just what I need more night time getting up! ;-) I read up on Dr JMc site, it only said give between 9-12pm. So thought I was doing ok. How does this stuff work with circadian rythmn (sp???) anyhow? Thanks Gail > > > In a message dated 16/02/2006 14:22:31 GMT Standard Time, gail@... > writes: > > currently give it between 9-10pm. Guest guest
Hi Gail, We are LDN users and I can tell you that we also saw a child that was more tired that usual (and we also had tantrums- new to us), but all these seem to be going away. We initially went from 5 lines to 3 lines and saw no differences so we are back to the full dose. It's funny you mentioned that the therapits' team were complaining about it.We had complain after complain ... but I can't tell you what I really think about these complains :-) We have pushed through and I think that we won't regret it. So far we have seen how much it is helping with language: better pronunciation, longer syllabus words, and a few spontaneoulsy two and three words, mostly imitating chunks, but I am going with that! I wish I knew how LDN can related to language. > > > > > > In a message dated 16/02/2006 14:09:21 GMT Standard Time, > gail@ > > writes: > > > > I really don't want to stop LDN but > > would be easier if I knew that this is 'just a phase'. Guest guest
Thank you!! There is hope.... :-) I feel the same about the complaints!! It just wears me down. Same sorts of improvements for us - definitely better articulation, more phrases- today I was blocking Tom's way and he said 'move out the way Mum' (!!! I was gobbsmacked!) and he is also copying more - not just language but also actions. So lots of good things happening - its just the tiredness we need to see improve. What time areyou applying the LDN? How long did it take for tiredness to improve? (Sorry to ask all these questions) Gail > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 16/02/2006 14:09:21 GMT Standard Time, > > gail@ > > > writes: > > > > > > I really don't want to stop LDN but > > > would be easier if I knew that this is 'just a phase'. Guest guest
Hi Gail, Interesting! So your son is doing better with language as well. Great! We (I should say my husband) applies LDN at 11.00 pm every day. Our son is already deep sleep and does not wake up with the application. We have been on LDN for almost a month now, and I believe that tantrums, difficult transitions and tiredness are " fading away " just now. Hope this helps, > > > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 16/02/2006 14:09:21 GMT Standard Time, > > > gail@ > > > > writes: > > > > > > > > I really don't want to stop LDN but > > > > would be easier if I knew that this is 'just a phase'. Guest guest
Really excited for you. Our only side effect with LDN was lost appetite. DO you think perhaps your Tom is just knackered through new activity? If there hasn't been much speach and now there is, perhaps that's tiring? If you're getting language I wouldn't change whatever it is you're doing. > > > > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 16/02/2006 14:09:21 GMT Standard Time, > > > gail@ > > > > writes: > > > > > > > > I really don't want to stop LDN but > > > > would be easier if I knew that this is 'just a phase'. Guest guest
Hi Gail Just to add that we went through the same sort of things, both nursery and Annie's ABA tutor's gave negative feedback. We had major tantrums/lethargy/lack of attending to task etc. Things have really settled down now, I would say it took 4 difficult weeks. Appropriate language and overall mood have greatly improved. (We apply at 11pm.) Guest guest
Thanks - it certainly helps to hear of others experience. Am going to stick this out then and see how Tom goes. Guest guest
Hi We've been using LDN since October, using the time frame given by McCandless, seeing lots of good things. HTH Anne-Marie
Guest guest
Hi we tried LDN . 1/2/3 lines nothing. 5 line rec dose we got a fever ..over 100 degrees. Runny nose. It lasted 6 days and despite being told to keep going 6 days was enough for me. Darryl is viral kid so it probably woke up some dormant virus. We didnt give him anything for fever hoping it would run its course but it didnt/ After we stopped within a day or so fever went and runny nose ran off. We had some subtle gains with speach..and bit more social. But no woweees Then we went back to one line and he was ok. I then went to 1 1/2 maybe 2 one night because when I applied it he rolled over and I though it had come off so added a but more. He has now got a viral infection - swollen glands in his neck. and off school for another week ! So my message is that this stuff is not for messing with. Its in a trial and nobody really knows the exact dose for each child thats in debate. If its job is to activate the immune system and regulate it ...well its certainly done that ! and I just hope that when we get through this we will see better gains. I keep plodding along...preparing him to start chelation and the fun and games that is going to bring !
