Hi,

Has anyone ever used Phen Free, and if so did it work for you.

Currently I am taking BFL CLA and did not know if I would benefit

from taking the Phen Free or if that would be double dosing. I

don't want to over do the supplement thing but feel like I might

need some help speeding up the metabolism. TIA for any help or

advice.

I don't think that EAS makes Phen Free anymore. Even if you can find some, I

wouldn't recommend it. It made me crazy(er).

CLA is a healthy fat. It's very different from a stimulant fat burner so you

wouldn't be double dosing if you took it with something else. I don't recommend

stimulants though. Honestly, your eating and training intensity are what will

make all the difference in the world. The magic fat burning pills have a really

minimal impact on your metabolism and overall success.

My experience with PhenFree was not good... not good...

http://skwigg.tripod.com/wow/id26.html

Some people take it successfully but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you

want added energy, plain old caffeine has a lot fewer side effects.

Phen Free

Someone had mentioned something called Phen Free for energy. What

exactly is that? Is it a supplement that is recommended in BFL? I

wonder because I've been considering taking something for added

energy, but I'm nervous about it. I've never taken supplements or

any kind of " drugs " (except tylenol)

Anyone have thoughts on energy type supplements?

Phenfree was an nonephedra thermogenic made by EAS supplements which

they dont make anymore. They have a new line of products which you

can read about here: http://www.eas.com/series_sub_thermo.asp

You can compare ingredients of many thermogenic products here:

http://www13.netrition.com/fatloss.html

They arent for everyone - its an individual thing and certainly not

necessary to get anykind of results (they DONT melt off bodyfat you

have to WORK to get results)- but most people I know that use them

like them for giving them an energy boost for working out (its the

caffeine in them).

That was probably me. I used to chat socially with the MD of EAS

over here. A few months before I started the challenge I said to

him " if my primary goal is fat loss, what supplements would you

suggest I take? " . He said if I had to take anything at all, he'd

suggest phen-free, though if I waited for a week or so the new one

(which is called something like thermo-something-or-other) would

come out on the market and that would be better, as it was slower

releasing. Funnily enough he did not think I needed to take a heap

of anything else, he said for regular old fat loss my body would do

it fine on it's own, but if I wanted to do something to speed it up,

then that would be what he'd suggest. So I went to the shop and

found they were half price (due to this new product about to come

out). So I went and bought 3 darn bottles. *sigh* I just can't

resist a bargain, shoot me. And I can't bear to waste it, even at

half price it wasn't cheap.

So I take one capsule a day, 4 days of the week. Which is a lot

less than they suggest, but I'm very sensitive to caffeiene. In

fact, before I bought them, my friend gave me some of hers to try.

She told me she takes 4 in the morning with her morning coffee.

(let me say here, that is NOT what the bottle says). She gave them

to me in a plain little container, so I didn't have a label to

read. I thought to myself that I would only take half that, with no

coffe. Because well, I don't drink coffee. That meant I would be

getting less than half of what she has. So I did, and I did NOT

like the way it made me feel. My eyeballs were darting all over the

place, I could feel my heart speed up, and I literally spent 5 hours

in the kitchen cleaning. No, I'm not exaggerating, I went hammer

and tongs for five freakin' hours cleaning. I pulled out the stove

and fridge, scrubbed all the walls, mopped the ceiling. Sheesh! I

know, I'm a silly girl for not getting hold of the instructions

before taking them. I've learnt my lesson :-\

So I'm still taking them while I'm on challenge, and they help me a

LOT with a bit of oomph some mornings. But the days I don't, I

sometimes get headaches. I had my very first migraine last week,

and I think it was becuase of the caffiene withdrawl. I now have

more sympathy for migraine sufferers, it was horrible. It's worth

pointing out here that I don't drink coca-cola, and have never had

anything with any kind of caffeiene in it. I don't think I would be

an average example.

That made me laugh SO hard! I did the same thing! I *NEVER* clean but after the

first dose of PhenFree I couldn't control myself. I was at it for hours. Nobody

could believe what was happening! The phone lines were burning up that day.

(She's doing WHAT? She's cleaning? Are you sure?) Half of my friends were

horrified and the other half wanted to know where they could get some.

Be aware tho (dont know if this pertains to you or not) that if you

plan to use up your supply of Phenfree (besides the usual caffeine in

it)it also contains St s Wort which interfers with birth control

pills effectivenes. I think thats the primary reason EAS took it off

the market and reformulated their new thermogenics without the St

s Wort in it - when women found this out they dropped Phenfree

like a hot potato ;-)
