Guest guest
This hasn't been the best weekend... the morning sickness has been killer lately. I had to go to the ER yesterday because I think I might have a UTI, the urine came back clear but even the ER doctor thinks there is a UTI brewing in me too. Unfortunately the 1 & ONLY antibiotic I can have, doesn't work on gram negative infections... which is what UTIs are usually. If I was a 'regular' patient they would have put me on antibiotics already, but the most common drugs used in pregnancy, I am deathly allergic to! I KNOW my body is just trying to remind me why it is that I am so high risk.... all I know it is that it super rude! So it looks like I am @#$% OUT OF LUCK! I have been choking down glass after glass of cranberry juice, I should be peeing cranberry juice soon. But when I try to push any thing... water, cranberry juice, apple juice, milk, cocoa, etc. I get even sicker!! I think that I am starting to get dehydrated though, because I am not making much urine right now. So I may need to drink a lot more before the juice starts pouring through me. I did ask about an IV yesterday but he didn't think it would improve the situation... mostly because after I was put in a room in the ER, my allergies were set off very rapidly, and very severely. I went from very pale to lobster red in about 1-2 minutes. So I got treated REAL FAST, before the people that were ahead of me... I got pre-empted to the front of the line. Luckily the doctor that treated me, I used to work with in another ER, so he has seen my allergic reactions first hand in the past... that is enough to scare most doctors. So I am sure he thought I was a lot safer at home drinking as much as I could on my own than in the ER where the likelihood of my allergies being set off again, only worse the next time was a little too high!! Dr. Trainor was funny though... the RN asked me if I had a ride home before she would give me the Benadryl shot, and he told her that I have had so much Benadryl in the past that 1 shot wouldn't effect my ability to drive. Which is very true. But not having slept well the last few days, plus the multiple doses of Benadryl on top of that would have. None of it was an issue though, Terry & my Mom were up there with me though, they went to get a Christmas tree while I was in the ER, since that is the reason we had gone up north in the 1st place. I hope everyone is having a good week. I am officially 27 days pregnant, with enough nasty side effects for 2-3 people. We go for our 1st ultrasound on my Gramma's 93rd birthday (12/27). I still have a good feeling about this pregnancy so I am looking forward to seeing & possibly counting heartbeats (a girl can hope & pray!) One, two, or three I will be the happiest girl on the planet, and can't wait to have an ultrasound in my hand so I have proof there is really someone in there. I hope to catch up with everyone later. Love Always, Anne EDD 08/14/03 I just remembered that I ovulated on cycle day 12 this past cycle instead of cycle day 14. So that is why I changed the due date... not that it will make any difference at the end of this adventure because I probably won't even make it to my due date, but it does for my pregnancy journal that gives information on a day to day basis, so for me it makes a big difference now.
