Guest guest
, I'm going to chime in here with some rambling kind of thoughts. My son has gone up and down in the almost 11 months we've been doing biomed. Had he kept all his progress, he'd be a happy, pooping regularly, speaking probably 200 word kid with somewhat decent eye contact on good days. He is not all this. But he is happy and some days he's even mischievous, so we're getting somewhere. My son had a pretty obvious regression after getting two thimerosal- laced flu vaccinations while he was sick and on antibiotics. But, when he was younger, he also had a very wild case of chicken pox followed very shortly afterwards (because I was such a careful and good mom) by his MMR. And I've often wondered why he of all the hundreds of kids I know who have the damned flu shot had such a horrible reaction. What could have made him so vulnerable, besides, I mean, all the crap and toxins in our enviroment that all kids must deal with? My son's hair test shows many, many signs of mercury toxicity although he didn't meet the counting rules. He also shows lead, antimony, aluminum, etc, toxicity. Other than going GFCF, he's had no really clear WOW! positive responses, and even that didn't last. He's also had no really clear negative responses. His response to chelation has been positive, but certainly not like many of the stories I read about 2 year olds being chelated where they start to speak in sentences, etc. He is subtle, holding his cards close to his chest, so to speak. All this plus the research I did putting together the viral file has led me to believe that my son is one of those many autistic kids who has pretty much some of everything that kids can have to make them autistic. I could be totally wrong about this, of course. But I cannot afford to test him for every single thing that can be tested (I tried to get the viral titers done here in Canada, but they won't give you a number here because that, according to them, is the old- fashioned way of doing things ARGHHH!) and even if I could afford every test, many of them aren't as clear cut as we'd like them to be in their meaning. With all this in mind, I'm preparing to start my son on an antiviral protocol. First I have to get him back on supplements and then chelation. Chelation seems to work to some extent for about 75% of our kids. Those are good odds. But I've read many, many recent reports from parents, even parents who have chelated for some time, saying that antivirals have worked wonders for their kids. I explain a bit of this in the viral file. IMO, the non-Rx path that has worked best for many parents is Virastop together with other antivirals like OLE, lauricidin, etc, used with immune boosters like Vitamin C, colostrum, astragalus root, etc. That's the route I'll be going. I'll also continue supping my son with Vitamin A, since he seems to be a bottomless pit in that regard. I may never know exactly what is working with him. Or it may be that sometimes we need to do all these things at once for some of our kids. Of course, with this goes the fact the fact that you have to learn about every single aspect of ASD treatments because your child is not a clear-cut case of this, or this plus that but no more. Not sure if any of this ramble is of any help at all, but just wanted to tell you some of the things I would share if we were able to sit across a table (filled with empty wine bottles, I would hope) and offer some support. I'll be doing some antiviral experimenting on myself soon, and I'll let you know how that goes if there's anything to report. Hang in there. You're doing a wonderful job. It's just that in the ASD world, the results of a wonderful job are often a long time coming, particularly when you're bruised and tired, but they are coming. Anita > > Thanks Zoe. Guest guest
Hi Anita Thanks so much for this it is hugely appreciated. Yes, that sounds like Tom, a real full house of autistic triggers. Everything we've ever looked for - we've found! Antimony, arsenic, gallons of lead, parasites, low this, that and the other, high metals in fecal test, post challenge, low EFAs, zinc copper ratio, yeast - you name it, he passes the autistic biochemistry test with flying colours. I was really cynical about it all until I realised that lots of people only ticked a few of the boxes, it wasn't compulsory to go for the comprehensive range. As you say, you just can't test him for everything. I have been thinking about vira stop for a while, not sure you can get it in the UK but many of the things that virastop seems to deal with (warts, colds, verrucas) are all also things affected by low zinc. And Tom is very low in zinc unless we supplement and has had veruccas (thought I'd change the spelling, one of them must be right) Thanks for your empathy. NB Particulalry interested in the empty wine bottles! Steph x > > > > Thanks Zoe. Feel like my children are hung round my neck whilst I > > stagger about with a bell shouting " unclean " .
