Guest guest
Do the items in the Yankee Swap box need to be new? In the past, they did not. The " minimum to spend " in this message make me think it is now a newly purchased item specifically for the swap. Thanks for clarifying yankee swap I've gotten alot of questions on this. No, you don't have to vote on this but if you are willing to get in on the fun this is the guide lines. This swap is for the ones that are going to be at the 2010 gathering. All you need to do is: Minimum to spend: $15. to $20. on up. Items: can be personal, soap related stuff for your kitchen lab or just supplies, chocolate, fragrance/essential oils, Coffee, the list goes on. Please remember if it is something that you would not like to receive yourself then please be nice to the next person. Would prefer you don't clean out your sock drawer for this swap. Must be in a plain brown box with no printed or writing on it. Once again you will draw for numbers for this swap just like last year (for the ones that were at the gathering). Guest guest
Thanks for posting that . I also got the impression that it was to be a new product. Guest guest
no they do not have to be new. But your value has to be within the limits of dollar value, if it is used it has to be valued as a " used price and not a new price " . Buy something new if you can and then sweeten your yankee swap box with some used stuff that you don't use anymore or You can, if possible, share some of a few ounces of certain supplies that you have on hand. Please make sure that it is labled, and whom the supplier was/is so that the person can order from that supplier that received your gifted yankee swap box. Be thoughtfull is the key thing with this swap, just remember one thing when packing up your box for the swap: " Is this something that I would be happy to receive as a gift? " Just remember to make your yankee swap box interesting, you don't want your box back at the end of the swap. It's no fun if you get something from the old sock drawer.
