I am leaping up on my soap box (pun intended) because I now have one!!! After

many makeshift soap boxes etc, I finally went and got the wood to make my own

official wooden soap mold! It has a lid and everything...I am feeling very

crafty so I had to share! LOL

Woo hoo! You're a professional now, Kirstie. :-) Are you going to get some

mylar to line it?

Well, let's see. I haven't seen it at the Dollar Tree for a long time. I did

see it at both Wal-Mart and at the Xmas Tree Store, though. One thing hubby

won't mind is that it's cheap. :-) If necessary, you could probably buy it at

JoAnn's with a coupon. It's sold there for quilt template making.

I just loosely line my mold with plastic--a grocery bag, trash bag, whatever.

Then, after cutting the mylar to fit the bottom and four sides of the mold, I

place it in. Voila! A lined mold in a minute.

ok so beth, what your saying is you use a bag to help for a seal, then use the

plastic mylar to make it smooth??? otherwise the soap will leak out right??

I will have to go to the store and get some, well maybe, i dont think i need it

now. i wish i knew about that a long time ago, though. I just got myself 2

linerless molds, it is so nice not having to line the mold. but i am having a

hard time geting the soap out, even though it comes completly apart. the soap

stiks to it. i think i need to try freezing it for a realy long time next time.

it was only my second attempt using it. and i was anxious to see how it was so

it wasnt in the freezer very long and the first time not at all.

i may try the mylar on my little 1 lb mold though.but it might also be nice in

the linerless molds just to make it easier. :) thanks for the tip.
