I just bought some fun seeds

* Fleabane - perennial, native plant, purple flowers, keeps fleas away

* Compass plant - perennial, native plant, yellow flowers, to attract

butterflies (so it says)

* Blue Flax - perennial, native plant, Going to try to cover part of the

slope in my yard with it.

* YELLOW echinacea - perennial, native plant, i already have pink ones...

why not yellow

* 'Little Bluestem' Grass - perennial, native plant, It's tall red grass...

how fun

* Leadplant - perennial, native plant, pretty tall plant with blue flowers

(lavender-ish configuration to the blooms)

* Rainbow Quinoa - annual, edible, super colorful and looks fun.

* Celosia (supercrest blend) - annual, super colorful and supposedly keeps

it's colors when dried.

I know... better get crackin on the sprouting of some of those... that's the

plan for this weekend :)

Cool. I've never thought of growing quinoa before!

I have to look up Compass plant. I'm not familiar with that one.

In addition to the regular garden stuff, I want to grow something different this

year too. I'm thinking of growing a dwarf blueberry bush, a dwarf meyer lemon,

broccoli rabe and lots of fragrant herbs like roman chamomile and lemon

verbena/balm. Last Fall I planted garlic & a raspberry bush to be ready for a

spring/summer bloom. Parks has some interesting things.

I would bring the lemon meyer inside to over winter. I saw one on the Martha

Show but of course she has a green house. I'll let you all know what

happens when I plant the blueberries.
