Guest guest
I just bought some fun seeds * Fleabane - perennial, native plant, purple flowers, keeps fleas away * Compass plant - perennial, native plant, yellow flowers, to attract butterflies (so it says) * Blue Flax - perennial, native plant, Going to try to cover part of the slope in my yard with it. * YELLOW echinacea - perennial, native plant, i already have pink ones... why not yellow * 'Little Bluestem' Grass - perennial, native plant, It's tall red grass... how fun * Leadplant - perennial, native plant, pretty tall plant with blue flowers (lavender-ish configuration to the blooms) * Rainbow Quinoa - annual, edible, super colorful and looks fun. * Celosia (supercrest blend) - annual, super colorful and supposedly keeps it's colors when dried. I know... better get crackin on the sprouting of some of those... that's the plan for this weekend On Wed, Feb 23, 2011 at 10:03 AM, Beth Byrne <bthbyrne@...> wrote: > I haven't had time to look at my seed catalogs. Guest guest
blueberries are hard to grow. At least that it what people have told me. So good luck with that. I did see the dwarf one that parks is offering. It looked pretty good. I would go with the lemon verbena myself. I LOVE it. I get mine from my local garden shop ech year. I try to keep it over winter but it always dies. Where do you plan on getting yours from?? the problem I have is the yard is alreayd so filed with gardening plants I have no more room. but there is so many things I want to try. > > > > hi there. i keep going through the park seed company looking at all the fine plants trying to figure out what to order. Guest guest
Sounds nice, Dee! Blueberries are among my favorite fruits, and if we go to MI at the right time, we go picking. I've wanted to grow some, but keeping the soil acidified has scared me off. Do you think you can winter over a Meyer Lemon outside, or would you bring it in? I've grown both Roman and German Chamomile and Lemon Verbena. They're easy and I love them. Just bring the LV indoors in the fall and you can keep it in a sunny window over the winter. I am so hungry for spring!
