Katy,

For me it all depends. I like to do

20 minutes yoga in the morning and evening and about 1 hour regular workout

(weights or aerobics or both). I’m not sure how much weight I’ve

lost – I haven’t been very consistent this year. I know I’ve

gone from maternity pants to a size 10. A lot of people don’t count

yoga as a real workout though (more as stress relief or something similar lol) But

I add on as I feel fit and if I slack off I start small again. I don’t

think it matters how much you work out a long as you are consistent. Working

out is my favorite part of the day though so I like it to last a long timeJ

of you lost in the last year.

I

workout about ________ min each workout day

I

have lost about _______ in the past year

how long i workout depends on if you want to count my yoga. then yes

it could be up to 2-3 hours a day. but yoga can be 30-60 mins before

breakfast then after viola goes to school and i have had breakfast it

could an hour or 2 hours with cardio, weights, and stretching. i am

aiming for no more then an hour for cardio or weights so i don't burn

myself out. not sure b/c i never really weight myself, just once in

awhile.

Katy,

Typically, I workout 1 to 1 1/2 hours 5 days a week, but right now I'm only doing the treadmill and physical therapy, so nothing too strenuous. Usually, it is 30 minutes of weights, 30 minutes of cardio, and 30 minutes of flexibility if I do all three, others I'll extend one type of workout to an hour and may or may not do the other types. Sometimes I'm not able to get the full 90 minutes in, but at the very least I do 30 minutes a day.

As for how much lost, I don't really know. I was in more of a maintenance phase and have stayed pretty close to the same weight since losing 75 pounds of fat 3 years ago. Since I was unable to workout at all for the last 6 weeks and overdoing it with food due to the holidays, I'm actually feeling heavier then normal right now. Since they cleared me to get on the treadmill again, I'll be bringing that back down as fast as my limited workouts will allow. Maybe I'll do my weight and measurements with my goals for 2006.

hi katy!

i normally like to workout anywhere from 45 to 90 mins. on a

rest/recovery day, i might do only a 30 min workout (stretching or

yoga). besides the length of workouts, you need to also consider

the type of workouts being done and also their intensity. these

factors should all be varied in your schedule and you should adapt

them to how you are feeling physically and emotionally each

day. also, obviously, people who workout for a long time or

multiple times per day have built up to that over a period of years.

Hi Katy,

I workout in the morning and in the evening about 6 days a week. Sometimes I take the weekends off, but only once everyone couple months. I usually workout an hour to an hour and a half depending on the rotation I'm on. Some mornings I do yoga and then in the evening I do my cardio. Other days I do weights in the morning and cardio in the evening. I usually try to do my cardio in the evenings because that is when I have the most energy.

Thank you all for your response. I was just curious how it worked for you all. Sounds like most of you are doing 30 min of yoga, some strength training, and probably spending the most time in cardio. There are so many reports of what people do that I get overwhelmed so I thought this would help sort it out a bit.

Hi Katy!

I'd say I workout anywhere from 45 min to 90 min most

days of the week. The 90 min days do include

yoga/Pilates/stretching into that time, though. I

haven't really tried to lose any weight this year -

although I'm sure I've gained some in December! I'm

pretty much at a good weight for my height/build

though, so weight loss isn't a goal for me right now

(although I would like to lose a bit of the pudge from

the holidays!)

Take care,

Donna
