Guest guest
Last September I made a batch of soap using a pumpkin spice ale and allspice fo. The lye volcanoed on me but I wasn't thinking and just kept stirring. Knew that I had lost some lye but continued to make my soap. Trace was almost instantaneous. Well, the soap developed white blotches and looked very greasy after it was cut. I forgot about it and let it set by itself. Did post on a list to see if I could rebatch or throw out. Never received a reply so again, I forgot about it. Today I needed the shelf to cure some new soap Decided to try a bar and then throw it out. I am so glad I tried some!!! The lather feels very soft and the fragrance is wonderful. The family will have some spicy soap (the bars are still speckled with white and not very pretty). Definitely not lye heavy...LOL Jeanine Jeanine's Hummingbird Soap Works
Guest guest
Ya never know. Soapmaking can still be humbling and surprising after all these years.
