Guest guest
If you are buying myoplex lite in the packages can you just have 1/2 a package at a time? If so do you need to add any carb or protein. I was just thinking packages would be more convienent to take with me places but price wise are expensive and I was just wondering how far I could stretch 20 packets. Thanks girls! Everyone is doing great. Lets have a perfect week! le
Guest guest
A myoplex lite is a meal. It has it's protein and carbs in it. Half a myoplex lite would not be enough to be a meal. Do not short change yourself. I have, on the other hand, had half of a REGULAR myoplex as a meal. Myoplex is a meal replacement powder. That means you don't need to add extra carbs or anything to it. It is complete. Su the Hobbit myoplex lite > If you are buying myoplex lite in the packages can you just have 1/2 > a package at a time? If so do you need to add any carb or protein. Guest guest
I don't do Myoplex but what I would do is read the back of the label. Most women aim for 20-25 grams carbs and protein per meal. Guest guest
le, I often split the Lite's in half and add skim milk instead of water. The milk will add carbs and protein to the shake, and it has worked really well for me. I like the taste better with the milk. Guest guest
Please please, do NOT split the LITEs in half. They are already sized down. Splitting it in half will result in not enough protien or carbs. Skim cows milk will add more carbs, but only minimally improve the protein content. Guest guest
It adds 8 grams of protein back in. That's not too minimal. Guest guest
Actually, I just checked the carton and the brand I get has 10 grams of protein in it. SO 1/2 a myoplex Lite (actually, I have protoplex - but I assume their probably about the same) and 8 oz of skim milk would be: Cals - 185 Carbs - 22 1/2 Pratein - 24 1/2 I don't know about you, but this is great for my diet. Not too much or too little of anyhting. Liz > > > > If you are buying myoplex lite in the packages can you just > have > > > 1/2 > > > > a package at a time? Guest guest
One FULL packet of myoplex lite contains the following: Calories 190 Calories from Fat 15 Total Fat 1.5 g Sugars 2 g Saturated Fat 0.5 g Cholesterol 5 mg Total Carbohydrates 20 g Sodium 400 mg Potassium 520 mg Dietary Fiber <1 g Folic Acid 50 % Protein 25 g I guess my big thing is that I don't use cows milk due to allergies. I only ever mixed my myoplex lite with water, so splitting in in half was NEVER an option for me. I kinda miss my myoplex lite sometimes. I loved the cappuccino ice flavor. Especially when I would take 2 low fat chocolate nilla wafers and blend those in. It was totally a myo lite chocolate brownie frap. It isn't considered an ideal protein source. Hopw I explained this right. Colleen
Guest guest
Have you tried fat free soy or rice milk? Both of these will add good amounts of protein back into the shake. I personally cannot choke down a shake mixed with water, so I HAVE to split it in half so I can add milk. Otherwise, if I added milk to a whole shake, I would be going WAY over on carbs. Guest guest
I think she means peanut butter. But you said you were adding milk so I'm not sure where peanut butter got added into the equation. Guest guest
I thought maybe that's what she meant. I was confused. Thanks for helping to clarify. Guest guest
Yup, I use soy milk in my protein shakes that I make myself. I have a TON of regular myoplexes that I should probably use up. I got them for hubby because he liked having them for breakfast and said they were a great start to his day. For me, I like a more whole foods approach so I make my own shakes with protein powder and some other things. Su the Hobbit Re: myoplex lite > Have you tried fat free soy or rice milk? Guest guest
This probably doesn't help much but if you get the regular Myoplex (more expensive) you can divide those and end up with about as much protein as a whole Myoplex lite. You can turn twenty packets into 40 and it will be a long time before you have to buy any more. Stasia

Any advice??? You could try some of the DaVince ff/sf syrups. And it depends which shake mix you have. If the protein/carb ratios are about the same, then don't add fruit. I usually get a protein only shake so I can add fruit. I mix it with water, and add berries or bananas and my flax oil. Colleen

Guest guest
The Myoplex Lite is pretty bland and not sweet enough. I make mine with 1 to 1 1/2 cups water and 5 ice cubes. I always add extra artifical sweetener (stevia, equal, or splenda). Here are some other tips: Choc - add mint extract Vanilla - add Butter buds, cinnamon, and vanilla extract Vanilla - use Diet Root beer instead of water to make a Root Beer float (I haven't tried this one yet). Vanilla - add SF jello mix (I've tried orange and it tastes like a creamsicle-YUM!) I've also reduced the amount of water to make it thicker and then freeze it for 10 minutes. Then I eat it like ice cream. > instant coffee, splenda, chai tea mix, pb > Myoplex lite > > > > Just wondering what you all put in your shakes to make them a little > > tastier. Guest guest
Hi :-) Assuming it's just plain whey powder - no it's not. Myoplex is a meal replacement, it contains all sorts of goodies in it. Whey powder is JUST protein. You have to add carbs, and fats to it, as well as take some kind of multi-vitamin if you wanted to get the same benefit of a Myoplex. in NZ C1W12D4 > > Here are some Myoplex tips: > > http://www.skwigg.com/wow/id25.html > > > > > > > > Myoplex lite > > > > > > Just wondering what you all put in your shakes to make them a > little > > tastier.
