Guest guest
Hello all: I think we've had this discussion at least once before, but in searching previous posts, I can't find what was agreed on. Is it better to workout when your not feeling well, or better to let your body rest? I did a heavy upper body workout on Monday even though I was starting to feel a cold coming on. Tuesday my legs hurt terribly and my cold was in full force. Today my cold feels a bit better, but I don't feel like doing ANYTHING! Workout? Rest? Let me know, Lelia
Guest guest
I used to try to work through colds and fluts, but it just seemed to take longer for me to recover and I really only gave 50% on my workouts anyway. Nowadays (like today..UGH!), I skip it until I'm all better. Guest guest
I've always believed (heard it here as well) that if your illness affects your chest/lungs, stay the heck away from the gym. Same goes for fevers. You're just gonna make things worse. But, if it's just a snotty head cold, I just try to be totally honest with myself. If I feel completely crappy, I don't workout. If I feel sick, but not THAT sick, then I go to the gym, but make no promises about how much I'll do, and when I get there I just do a minute or two and then see. Usually I find I can do at least half of my workout and often I can finish it. Get well soon! Phoenix
