This happened to me a few years ago but to the toe next to the pinky

one. I was crossing the den in the dark at 4am with a full cup of

coffee and stubbed my toe on something and tried to muffle a scream

so as not to wake the family and keep the coffee from spilling at the

same time. It took about two weeks for it to quit hurting. Turned all

black and blue all the way up my foot.

Pat,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I broke me pinky toe in early June. I

can now wear tennis shoes (that took about a month!) but I still can't wear

other closed toe shoes. And even in tennis shoes when I've been on it a while or

walking fast it hurts! Leave the tape on for at least a month (you DO have it

taped don't ya?) It really takes a good 6-8 weeks for it to heal and then it

still will be sore at times, especially if you bump it (which keeping it taped

helps to keep from bumping it)

>Well, Stefanie, I sure hope you are wrong...I have cancelled four

tennis matches (for this week) plus had to cancel my coach for Thur.

I simply cannot wait that long to heal! I HAVE to wear tennis

shoes!!!!!! And then I have to run on the court! I just taped it

today (this happened on Friday). I have also started to elevate it

and ice it (I did this the first day but diodn't know I needed to do

it for a week). Plus, my husband just called and told me we have a

dinner on Friday with some corporate types at a really nice

restaurant...I have to wear a shoe!!!! Then next week I don't know if

I can find subs...they are hard to get in the summer.

I've done that before - it hurts! Mine took about three weeks to get to where I

could do normal activities again. You might tape it to the next one for

stability. And ice it if it's swollen. Good luck!

I broke my toe!

This last Friday I was doing my workouts and in between sets I tend

to go to the computer....well, I get up and hurry to my weight bench

only to stub my toe so bad it broke! (the baby one). So now I am

bruised up to the middle of my foot...the toe is huge and soooo sore

and gee...there goes tennis for at least a week (can't put on a shoe)

and my workouts will suffer some also. I am suppoed to do my L.B.

today ...I know I can do some but even just walking hurts and I want

to let it heal as quickly as possible. I am thinking to do just some

floor work....I will try dead lifts and see what they do...no calf

raises for me though and no lunges.....

I guess that's what you get when you work out nude and do not even

wear shoes! Anyone know how long it takes for a toe to heal???
