Our new year has started out quite good!! I am feeling a little bit better today, but was in the ER last evening because of the pain in the area of my right ovary and back. I went to the ER that I worked in for 8+ years, so I knew everyone that took care of me. (ER doctor) did a pelvic exam, everything looked good cervix is closed. So then they called in the ultrasound tech & did another ultrasound... we saw a strong heartbeat, and they measured my ovarian cyst it is 4.7cm now. Found out this morning from the RE when he called me the cyst had been 6+cm last Friday when they did the original ultrasound, so it is going down in size. The RE's pager was not working properly so he didn't know I was in the ER until he got home at 0200, which is the reason he called me at home this afternoon. So both & the RE think that the cyst was probably leaking blood yesterday which is why it hurt so badly. I had no cervical bleeding, the leaking of blood is part of the bodies way of decreasing the cyst in size. So this was a good thing, although it sure hurt and made me kind of nervous. The hospital ultrasound was much clearer, we could actually see the heart just pumping away. The baby's heart rate was 158 bpm, so normal and very good!! We actually went to the ER last night for Terry because he was having pain while peeing, and has a cough. Terry has a serious heart defect, for which he has had his chest cracked for surgery twice. When his temperature started going up, that was it, we were ER bound! He has bronchitis & a UTI so he is on antibiotics for 10 days. But so I decided that since we were in the ER anyway, I wanted my mind put to ease about the pain. So the ER was a good experience for both of us this time around. I haven't been online much the last few days because of the pain in my side or low pelvic area (where my ovary is). And I have been so tired lately... I hope to come back more often soon, but don't know when quite yet. Just so you know, all my lists are on digest for the time being. I have over 400 unread messages in my mailbox, so if anyone needs to get ahold of me, you'll have to be patient or write me back directly to my email address (aemr@...) so I am sure to see it. I hope everyone is having a good New Year's Day!! Looking forward to hearing about all sorts of good things from everyone this year!!
