Guest guest
---Tink..I just thought I would say..the longer you do bfl..the more your chest shrinks..really it does. you may not need a breast reduction after a few challenges..I can tell in your 8 week photos your chest is already getting smaller! oh and by the way..great job with that! those look great if I have not told you! my chest shrinks on bfl..as well as almost everyone else has that happen to them. so by august you may not need to keep that appointment with how well you are doing! Guest guest
Tink - I had a reduction many years ago at the ripe old age of 20. Went from a big, saggy DD+ to a B cup (which shrinks to an A cup when I am at my ideal weight). The surgery solved all kinds of neck and back problems and all of a sudden I could RUN without risk of black eyes! And I can actually go braless once in a while if I want to! If you can believe this, I actually have now been considering a " slight " enhancement. I had hoped to be more of a B/C instead of an A/B. I am sooo happy not to have to wear bras with five clasps in the back and iron underwires, but I wouldn't mind having a pair of nice round C cup boobs. I have no plan to do anything until I am at my ideal weight and body composition, and then it may be my reward. We shall see. The first appointment for me was your basic consultation: Let's see 'em, ok why don't you like 'em, what do you want 'em to look like, which of these pictures looks most like what you're after, here's what I recommend, etc. etc... The surgery wasn't too painful although it is strange to have four drainage tubes sticking out of you for a week, and even stranger when they just pull them right out in the doctor's office. Check around - not all doctors leave your nipple attached during the procedure, and having it removed and set on the operating table decreases sensitivity (as you might imagine). I have had no complications and I love the freedom I gained. Libby > Hi Ladies. > > I originally had an appointment in August with a plastic surgeon > regarding a breast reduction and a tummy tuck. Guest guest
Tink, I had a breast reduction back in '91. I had my youngest 6 months before that. Went back down to pre-pregnancy wt. of 126#---But, my chest stayed at a 36 DOUBLE J CUP, yes, there is such a size, although had to go to a specialty shop to find the bras. Anyway, had over 1 1/2 pounds of Tissue removed (breast tissue-the fat, etc.). Had OVER 400 stitches on the outside alone! Very painful. Was covered by my medical insurance. Was worth it, but, I was also having neck pain, shoulder problems, etc. I would like to comment on something someone posted re: your considering a breast reduction. I am in week 6 on my BFL Challenge. I gained a lot of weight on steroids used to treat my Multiple Sclerosis some years back!!! I have tried many other ways to lose weight, but nothing really worked. Not until I found out about BFL. I even told my husband that I would probably lose everywhere except my breasts. Reason why I said that is 'cause after my first one EVERYTHING went back to " normal " size. As I told you, not so with second one. Wellll, since I have been on BFL, I HAVE LOST inches in my chest!! So, you may want to wait and see where you are in regard to breast size in August. I was a B/C cup after my reduction. I had gone up to a D cup after the steroids. So, if I am losing in my breasts on BFL, good chance you will, too. I am sorry, I read the email that comes through-lots of it and I am not sure how far along you are on the BFL Challenge. One more thing, I bought a sports bra week 3. Had to put it on 1st set of hooks, then the 2nd set, now the 3rd set, and I am starting to wonder if I won't need to buy a SMALLER one before I finish my 12 weeks. Of course, I am sure u figured I did not stay at my 126# after all the steroids for my MS lol!!!! Hope this helped shed a little light on things involving breast reductions. Have a good one
Guest guest
Tink... I spent all of my life wanting a breast reduction till I started BFL.... once I lost the weight and got down to 15% body fat I had gone from a DD to about a B cup.... I had a breast lift with implants in May of 2002 and am smaller now than I was before the weight loss. I have my story along with progress pics at a msn group... if you are interested please email me at annebjorken@.... Deb
Guest guest
Just to clarify I am going into Week 9. My chest has actually gained an inch or two and even when I was thin I remained the same size. My appointment was bumped to next Friday. July 11th. I originally planned on waiting until August when I'd be well into my second challenge, but the doctors office phoned and she's on holidays. Considering it took 9 months to get to that appointment I can't cancel and wait. I think I'll take measurements next week before I go to check and see if there is any possible shrinkage. I'm a large D to DD and always have been. I think I left that out of my original post as well. Dan is really unsupportive, he seems to think I'm going to die on the table or something. MEN! Let him carry these jugs around for a few days and see how he feels. LOL Tink
Guest guest
Oh my goodness, I was just going to post about this too. I have not gone to any appointments yet. Did you start going to your reg. doctor first and complaining about the neck, back shoulder pain first? I am going to check into this too. I havent' read any replies to your post yet, but please keep me informed. Guest guest
I have complained to my doctor for years so she referred me to a female surgeon that comes highly reccomended. My appointment is next Friday so I'm looking forward to getting things rolling. Tink caimee5 wrote: >Oh my goodness, I was just going to post about this too. I have not >gone to any appointments yet. Guest guest
That is great! Keep me posted on how it goes. I did some calling around about 18 months ago to plastic surgeons, and they a few said " even though I have big breasts for my size and frame, I may want a reduction or lift, and i may need some small implants, because of the sagginess, is mostly skin now that gives me bigger breasts, not really that fat(firmness)...but I never went in. " I do know a girl that had a reduction done, and loved it, and still loves it, but she was stupid and still had suchers in, and scrubbed her kitchen floor, and they popped out, so now she has a lot more noticeable scars than she would have. BUT she still loves it. Aimee I want a breast lift, and probably a reduction too > > > > > >>Hi Ladies. > >> > >>I originally had an appointment in August with a plastic surgeon > >>regarding a breast reduction and a tummy tuck. Guest guest
Aimee, Instead of implants, I would think you could be a good candidate for the laser bra surgery. You get your reduction by a small incision, they insert this little lifty bra thing and reduce and lift your breasts... Here's a link that can better explain it. I seen one performed on TLC's A Personal Story (check out discovery.com) and the girl was really happy with it... http://www.laserbra.com/index.cfm Tink caimee5 wrote: >That is great! Guest guest
Good luck on your appointment. I'd also suggest seeing a few different doctors and getting several consults. I do think most doctors recommend getting to your goal weight before doing any type of surgery, but then again they aren't feeling your pain My friend had a reduction about 2 years ago and her recovery was relatively smooth. She was even back playing competitive tennis within about 8 weeks (of course she played until she was 6 months pregnant too!) Her scars are very minimal. Guest guest
Hey, Tink. I go in August to my surgeon for the same thing! I went a couple of years ago and my insurance turned it down saying it was not a medical necessity. BS...let them tote these things around for a while! Anyway, I didn't appeal the decision because I got pregnant right away. I am hoping things change this time around. At my appointment, the dr. takes measurements, photos and generally discusses the surgery with you. All of the information is then sent to insurance if you plan to hit them up. Also, it helps with insurance if you have more than just the plastic surgeon give his opinion. I had a chiropractor write a letter and I also consulted with an orthopedic guy who was a total a-hole. He told me that he could " fix " my neck problems and " why would I want to ruin a beautiful body? " Such a MAN. Duh. Anyway, that is about what you can expect. Good luck! (who is in the same cup...I mean, BOAT...as you. :-) ) Breast Reductions? Hi Ladies. I originally had an appointment in August with a plastic surgeon regarding a breast reduction and a tummy tuck. The tummy tuck is something I won't be doing until after I've finished having children (1 more) and lost the remainder of my weight. But the breast reduction I am definitely having done. I have neck, back, pain etc... all from this huge gorilla boobs on my tiny short waisted frame. What should I expect for my first appointment? Basically she'll have a look and tell me what to expect, options, $$ etc?? Thanks in advance if anyone has any info. Tink
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks! Even if insurance doesn't pay for it, I will. I go in a few more days and I'm getting so nervous. I'll be glad to just get the appointment over with! Friday is the big day. Tink Utech, wrote: >Hey, Tink. > > > >I go in August to my surgeon for the same thing!
