Guest guest
So as I said in my previous posts, I've been swimming instead of doing the 20 minutes HIIT cardio(read stubborn). I cancelled my swimming class for the next month and have decided to try the good ol' 20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical machine, I might even hit the treadmill(gasp). I'll probably swim every now and then but it won't be the focus of my workouts. I have to admit, i'm worried this won't do anything for me :/ I'm one of those people who just read too many articles, books and have talked to too many trainers and I am REALLY sceptical of this 20 minute only thing. I've always been told that to burn fat, you need to do at least 15-20 minutes of cardio because those are first spent burning your glycogen stores and not fat and that fat is burned after so typically you want to do(so I've been told), 30-45 minutes and not longer because then my body would start using muscle for fuel. However, one trainer told me I could even go up to an hour if I make sure that I take some sort of electrolyte drink. So, to just throw all that away today and stand on the elliptical for 20 minutes to walk off, I just felt well.. like a slacker, like there is no way this 20 minute thing is going to work. I'm too chicken to post my BFL challenge picture because of the amount of idiots on the network but here's a picture of me this time last yr. According to the bodyfat scale at the gym, I'm the same bodyfat but it seems like the fat has migrated to other areas like above my knee I'm just venting, blah, it's going to be REALLY hard for me to do 20 minutes of HIIT.
