Guest guest Posted March 17, 2003 Report Share Posted March 17, 2003 Hi! How is everyone?? I've been down with an infection in my leg/ankle/foot, so bad I couldnt sit here. Hooch snuck an ankle biting cat in here in the wee hours one night, and I clumsily put my foot in its way I guess. It was really nothing, I didnt even look at it- till the next morning, when it hurt so bad I could barely walk on it. It was already red, hot, and swollen. I did everything you're supposed to do, and it just got worse. I looked up cat scratch fever on the net- it takes a good 3 days before you get symptoms. I knew pasteurella was common in dog & cat bites, but never saw it that bad, that fast. Decided I'd better see a dr in less than 24hrs. Well, they were so busy, they said they couldnt possibly see me till 6:30 that evening, and I was almost in tears by that point- boy, it hurt! I talked her into calling in some ( " beefed up " )penicillin. It is slowly healing, but I have a hole just above my ankle, and I'll spare you the rest of the grisly details. Just trying to stay warm- without a sock, and in a skirt cause pants touch too much- and here comes a new blizzard. We are about to be buried in snow here, in the 4 corners area & rockies.
