getting ready for severe weather with 12 animals is NOT easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The wind is terrible, tornado watch is in affect along with severe thunderstorm warnings all around the state. Umm isn't this NOVEMBER!??! We shouldn't be having this kind of weather now!!!!! It was 74° here yesterday! All the animals are freaking out because of the heavy rain and I wasn't able to get one of the metal frames down for tarps so I'm guessing that will be torn to pieces by the end of the day since it is raining WAY too hard to go out there and do it now! Well, tornado watch was just put into affect for our county and there is a severe thunderstorm just 13 miles from here heading our way so I better get. I hope everyone else is doing well with teh storms!!! let us know when you can!!!

Glad that you survived the storms Jessie!!! I Wish I HAD been asleep during ours yesterday!!! How did all the animals do???

Helen

**and I'll take an earthquake anyday!! Maybe I'm used to them????**

LOL Hey Lee!! How are you doing?! I've lost count of how many earthquakes

i've been in and I don't miss them at all!!!! Were you in Northern Ca. for

the '89 earthquake? We all did fine through the storms, I slept through the

worst of it (I'm kinda upset about that I *love* thunderstorms) Some trees

are down and stuff like that but so far there isn't a lot of damage, thank

goodness!!

Hey Helen lol the animals were fine during all the thunder and winds none of them (but Flint) are afraid of thunder or anything to do with storms so they usually don't care at all. They were more upset that it was wet out and that they had to stay in their pens (in case I needed to get to them right away) all morning in stead of in the yard. We all love storms (nana, Kelley and I) so the animals have never sensed fear during storms I think that's why they don't care about them at all. The cat slept through the storms with me LOL How are you doing Helen?!

Wow when I put the news on at 6 and heard what had happened I was horrified, all the poor people who lost lives and property. Nat Geo had a special on it tonight as did CNN

NY got a terrible beating in March of 93 due to the same set of circumstances, a warm front from the South met an icy front from the West. The early warning cut in on the Friday TV programs and said 'this is NOT a practice' The sun was out, it was balmy and within one night we woke up to over 3.5 'of snow, from the horrendous weather that arrived late that night. Our drive was hopeless and the plow truck did not get there for two days, could not see the back yard barn for the snow, in fact as far as one could see down the road was one white expanse with no life, I only had enough food for one more day ( potatoes) when the snowplow got there! First thing I did later on was to get a freezer and it has never been less than full in the winter, and we got a snowblower a very large 8hp one! Anne

Its good you keep it stocked!!! We keep everything stocked too sinse the blizzaed of 78? I think it was... We were snowed in for four days and being a Friday it was grocery day and of course we couldn't get out to get grocerys just like eveyone else... Our road had over four feet in it and they had the national guard flown in when the airport reopened and they were cleaning the roads off also... Hope this isn't going to be a repeat!

How'd you survive the ice storm???

How are you doing???

We had about the same Helen the road was not even cleared for what seemed days, proving that Ma Nature can win each time. Wise move to keep the freezer stocked at all times I found. I keep it going by buying sales each week, buy two, one for the future!

My friend in New Orleans says that between heating and cooling costs, he may spend more than us in the NE. HA! A southern type of view! DDDooes he reaalize that the furnace will most likely be going until mid June at least part of the day.

A serious warning for all, I almost got it pulled on me, going over my credit card bill there was one purchase I did not recognize, only #13.52 and to a company I did not even know existed. Being a b---- on wheels I called the bank and they were to look into it. Called back yesterday and they said the charge had been removed! No explanation, but I hear now that there was a party who was accessing cyberspace and people were getting ripped off as he sold their number to anyone for a sum of money.

If a charge is noted on anyones bill, not legit, call the bank! For a small amount like that it could be overlooked and paid without question, multiply that by many thousands and see the result, thiis guy had millions in this scheme!

The company was" Sponsor Connection Stamford CT"

I don't wish to seem a worry wort but ya know at the holidays there are so many dishonest vendors popping up all over, selling this, selling that, order it and never get the item!

I hear you Helen about sales and stocking up the freezer..

I cannot imagine having to go to the store on some of these days this winter---beg your pardon, still autumn!

I am fine except the pain on my riight side is unbearable sometimes and I have to lie down, then it lessens. The doctor thought it was in the muscle mass on the left, I doubt it though. Love AnneC

No Helen, i think a number of incidents did this, some maybe in the past, I once had the rototiller out and had the handle into my side as an extra push as the soil was so compacted, the doctor was aghast when he heard that one. Then of course I fell that day couple of years back, It goes when I sit down and is between the kidney and the ribs, but seems to be lower at times, who knows, but when present it is crippling.

Then on that side the kidney has cysts in it, so who knows and the doctor seems confounded, next I am going to insist on a better exam than I get Anne
