Guest guest
Chris- I'm on Healing Crow, not any of the main SCD lists, which are devoted to helping people follow the diet, deal with flares, etc.. Healing Crow has a broader focus. As to Primal Defense, it has a number of SCD-illegal ingredients, so it's not actually SCD legal. (Elaine was very conservative in defining the diet -- she didn't allow anything which didn't have solid science behind it, so lots of things which might be helpful, at least for some people, are not included. Some of the organisms in PD are not SCD-legal for that very reason. However, it also includes SCD-illegal plant components.) Some people have reported benefits from PD, some people have reported serious harm. They did reformulate it fairly recently to eliminate some of the more seriously SCD-illegal ingredients, but it's still not part of the diet. You could certainly try it, though (I may try it myself) but you should be aware that some people have had some serious problems with it. >You are on the SCD list, right? I've heard some people on there didn't do >well with Primal Defense. Have you read any such posts and have you >gotten any >impression of how PD fits in with SCD? > >I'm curious because it's been found to be incredibly effective for >IBD/Crohn's which SCD is used for, and Garden of Life conciously does not >allow FOS in >the product as well, which fits with SCD. But according to some website, >Elaine does not allow it because it hasn't been studied enough and some >people >reported adverse reactions. > >Any info you might be able to share would be greatly appreciated. -
