Guest guest
I thought this might help some, so I'll post it. Before BFL, I thought I could never have washboard abs because of genetics, or because I knew I couldn't work out 8 hours a day. Then I saw all the before and after photos and thought maybe I could. After 12 weeks, I was disappointed that I wasn't super buff and 12% bodyfat. I thought if all those people in the photos could do it in 12 weeks, then what was wrong with me? Then I checked out their stories closer...Day 82 of the journal, Diane took more than one challenge. So did Mina on Day 74, Merrily on Day 65 (she was written up in Energy), on Day 62 and Carolyn on Day 4. Also, when Homan was on Oprah, http://www.bodyforlife.com/finishers/2002/bios/2nd/cindy_homan.shtml, Oprah asked her how long she's been doing this program and said one year. So, I would think that the before and after photos were after more than one challenge. So, armed with this knowledge, I still hope for the abs, but I don't expect them after 12 weeks. Maybe after a year, but if not, that's ok. I'll still be happy with whatever happens because I'm getting stronger, I'm eating more fruits and vegetables and protein than I EVER have in my whole life. That means I'm possibly avoiding cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, etc. So I just wanted new people to realize that when you skim the inside covers of the BFL journal and see all these amazing results, many of them were not after 12 weeks. Don't despair if you're not looking like a fitness model yet. It just might take longer than 12 weeks.
