Guest guest
this post just came across one of my lists, and I thought that her scenario might be one that others should be aware of before calling 911 for anything short of imminent death! Sharon +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I recall a case where my young children ( 8 and 10) called 911 against my wishes, when I was injured and bleeding profusely. Although I called immediately back and told them not to come, the nightmare was set in motion and there was no stopping it. When I refused treatment, I was threatened with arrest for refusing. I tried to give them a written, signed note that I refused, it was not sufficient. After much back and forth, when they were becoming more and more threatening I finally locked myself into a bathroom as I felt getting weaker since I really did lose a lot of blood. If they had not come I would have laid down, applied pressure and be fine. (did that after they left). Of course my children were frantic as they saw all that blood and all that threatening going on and their mother in anger and tears and the 911 folks on a power trip (well, so was I, I guess). Just when the sheriff was about to break down the bathroom door, my husband came home and after I told him that I did not want their services, could he have them leave. After that nightmare, I made it very clear to my children and all others, that for me there will NEVER again a 911 call made. It is my choice. I have signed notes to that effect in my purse, my car and a few other places. and Yes, I will call 911 for my children or anyone else but I will also use the oils and cayenne pepper (I learned since, it stops bleeding wounds fast.) etc. on family members no matter what the emergency personnel says and am prepared to sue if they keep me from it. I fully realize that doctors and other medical and emergency personnel are a true blessing and I have nothing against them, nor do I encourage others to follow my lead. At the same time, people have the right to their idiosyncrasies. However, be aware that ones 911 has been activated, you become a number and only by a very strong will, can you direct your treatment. Preparation, knowing ones rights and what to do in an emergency are the key to success. For anyone with a doctor phobia like I have, the oils are a true blessing.
