Guest guest
Hi my names is Jessie. I just found this list and looking forward to being part of it. I have an 11yr old daughter who has a learning disability (vision processing and language expression), a facial tic, and is now on Prozac for anxiety and possible OCD through her regular pediatrician. I still have a lot to learn about this disorder. We have an appt on Tues for a behavioral evaluation with a psychologist. I suggested this because I really would like a diagnosis by a prof since she is on med. Her obsessions are thoughts that get going in her head and continues to worry about it and I guess her compulsion is constant reassurance that it's ok. Example: always afraid I will forget to pick her up from school, found a little bump on her neck and just knew she was going to have to have surgery and things like that. Has alot of " what if " questions. This all started about 2 yrs ago when she told me she had bad thoughts about hurting people and was saying bad words in her mind. I know her little mind just has to be going a mile a minute. That's probably why she can't sleep in her own bed. We decided to try Prozac because both myself and her dr felt her thoughts/worries were interfering with her daily life. Anyways...if someone can let me know what goes on during a behavioral eval. I would appreciate it. I really need to let my daughter know what will happen at this appt Tues so maybe she won't worry about it so much. Sorry for the long read.
