We do frozen liver in the vitamix almost every day but its is just a small amount. The vitamix reduces it to the consistency of the berries or fruit and we don't notice it at all. But 2 lbs at a time...probably too much at one time I would guess.

Not sure if this would have been better in a food processor. Using low speeds and tamper but motor cut off and needs a rest. I don't want it to be liquified, sort of a course chopped texture.

Sorry that it took me so long to reply to this! I looked over the recipe - looks very interesting! I might try it. How did it taste? The fan does not kick on to cool the motor on the variable speeds so that is why the motor over heated. You can use the variable speeds to chop as long as the "load" isn't too much. A possibility (something to try) might be to pulse on high. You will get a finer grind, but it should work (in theory at least).BTW, what did this taste like?I really LOLed at the "auto-correct" error in this comment on the recipe:"This is awesome chopped liver. The only thing I did different was use children broth instead of water and then added 1 chicken bouillon cube."I've been mad at my kids before, but never tempted to make "children broth" ;-)

It actually came out pretty decent. I grew up with chopped liver so it is

something I am used to. I think I probably should have added a bit more salt

and pepper but otherwise I was happy with it. In the past I have used my food

procssor on a low speed. Last week was Passover so was looking for something to

spread.

The one other big change I make with this recipe is to use calf liver instead of

chicken liver. My husband's grandmother claimed it came out moister.
