Guest guest
Thanks, Rosie. Your comments are greatly appreciated. One of my enduring frustrations has been those that quickly figure out what they need to recover - but disappear instead of helping the rest of the us. The ones that struggle are too ill to do much. The exceptions are on groups like this. One of the reasons I've been able to get back to an active life - which didn't begin until after 10+ years of " recovery " and still not " cured " - is what I learned from those that gave to me, especially Maggie Dominey and the Rocky Mountain Environmental Health Association: 1. This illness is real and should be treated very seriously. 2. Something can be done about it. 3. I was not alone. 4. Although I had been victimized, I didn’t have to stay a victim. Guest guest
I too appreciate very much Carl and all the others that don't need this group but choose to be here to help so many of the desperate people out there looking for answers. I pledge if I ever get better never to forget about those that are still out their struggling. I remember when I had no idea what was causing my illness and family members and friends chiding and browbeating me. Loosing my savings and investments. Suffering horribly every single day. At least now I know what it is that I have to do to get better. I am in semi better condition but still struggling. It's not easy when your not working to buy a brand new mold free home, than of course you have to worry about not bringing the mold with you. Or even worse having mold wherever you do decide to go. I have made many horrible mistakes along the way. I was thinking how nice it would have been if I had support from family members, in that they too could know what I am, what we are going though. They might have been able to take me into their home and help me get out from underneath my mold pits. Instead of the constant judging. And ridiculous advice. If only they could have felt and expressed their disbelief at the authorities that are covering up this scandal and showcasing it's victims as nut bags with a psychological problem trying to make the big bucks and get one over on everyone else. If only we could put more pressure on authorities to help. I know it's kind of selfish to express anger at the hurricane victims and all the catering the authorities did for them, the way some of those victims were snapping at the hands of authorities because they did not jump fast enough and high enough. At Least someone was their for them. At least someone acknowledged their problem, at least they offered a hand to help. We need the authorities to give us kits to test for mold, we need medicine and treatments that will elieviate the effects of this mold. We need proper techniques for testing the scope and degree of this illness. We need access to experts that can help us get into safe housing and help us avoid further exposures. Help us get out from underneath the burden of a house that has mold in it. Help people who are still healthy from getting sick from mold in the first place. Help stop the spread of mold in offices and buildings and homes through information campaigns. I am not asking for a hand out I am simply asking the authorities to do what they are being paid to do. And that is to properly access public health threats and act on that assessment. That is what we pay them taxes for in the first place. > >Carl I just want to thank you for all the time you take to share your >knowledge with us.
