Guest guest
nope..not madness and not rocket science either. if this is your first challenge go by the book. it's the concept of consistency over time that pays off in the end. do the portions, eat from the authorized food list, do your 3 weight workouts (splits) a week plus 3 cardios and a free day and you'll be fine. Guest guest
, Some of the stuff can get confusing, but following the book works for me and several others. Any tweaking, counting calories etc... is just extra stuff that some people do to help lose the body fat or it is their 2, 3rd, or 4th challenge and they want different results and know what works or doesn't work for them. Don't feel confused, just hit delete. I would hate to see someone leave the group or even BFL program. It is simple and clear cut, the rest of the discussions are just research or tips. *hugs* Tink Anne Klueppel wrote: > Ladies, for 3 weeks I have been thinking how easy and clear cut BFL > is! Guest guest
BINGO! BFL is made to be easy. Palm/fist portions, protein/carbs plus veggies, 6 meals a day....follow that and you will get results. Colleen > Ladies, for 3 weeks I have been thinking how easy and clear cut BFL is! Guest guest
It just seems to me like this group focuses quite a bit on that and it's really stressful for someone like me who chose this diet because its lack of obsession with numbers. >From: Crystal <tinkerbell@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Madness! >Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 16:06:17 -0400 > >, > >Some of the stuff can get confusing, but following the book >works for me and several others. Guest guest
Take a deep breath. Okay, take another one. You don't have to do any of this stuff (i.e., counting calories, entering food into Fitday, become obsessive and neurotic about every morsel that goes in your mouth). All that is strictly optional. Most of the ladies on this board (myself included) who do go above and beyond the book are BFL veterans and have been at it for years. Don't let it overwhelm you. The reason so many extra topics are discussed on this board is because the pure program itself is so simple there'd really be no need for a discussion board at all. dani > Ladies, for 3 weeks I have been thinking how easy and clear cut BFL is! Guest guest
, I know I already replied, but this statement kind of hit a nerve with me. The women in this group have tons of knowledge, support and wisdom and there are all ranges from experts to beginners. My original advice was to just delete what you do not need to know or care to know...you choose what you read right? I chose this diet because of the lack of numbers, I counted Weight Watcher points for years and got VERY tired of it and the obsession. BUT, some people need to count calories and need to keep an eye on their portion sizes....because lets face it, somedays I want to eat a palm sized portion the size of Bill palm, not mine! LOL and there's a big difference. Point is....follow the book, don't worry about what other people are doing do what works for you, and let them do what works for them! My photo's are under C1 for Tink...I followed the book for 3 weeks and look what happened. Don't stress, there is no need too. The joy of having a discussion group is so that people can discuss options for the program and get tips from others as well as share successes, recipes, and friendship. Guest guest
Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt the amount of knowledge in the group at all. That's evident, and that is, in fact, why I decided to join after having read several hundred of the postings. I didn't mean to strike a nerve with you or anyone- I was just checking to see if the group's discussions were focused on that kind of idea or if I just got a less than ordinary sampling in the past couple of days, that's all. It's not that I am not interested in the whole numbers idea - quite the contrary - I am a numbers hound and today on my lunch break found myself in and Noble looking to buy all kinds of guides on calories and proteins and carbs and fat and .... you get the picture. It made me stop and say to myself " why the sudden change in my attitude and take on this program? " I come from a family of devout Weight Watchers point counters, and struggled with my weight and my incessant numbers battles for 17 years, so when I'm presented with the option of counting and tallying, I jump at it, but for me it's detrimental to my success. I have seen in the past hours, though, that there is a vast array of approaches, which is reassuring. Sorry to have struck a chord! :-) Didn't mean to! But thanks to everyone for the messages and opinions - it's healthy to have a good idea of how each individual approaches this program. >From: Crystal <tinkerbell@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Madness! >Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 17:43:30 -0400 > >, > >I know I already replied, but this statement kind of hit a nerve with me. >The women in this group have tons of knowledge, support and wisdom >and there are all ranges from experts to beginners. Guest guest
It is the easiest in the world. It's just that... wellllll... some of use don't see the progress we want to see and think we can speed things up. Some of us want are fixated by numbers and just have to know the macrobiotic breakdown of everything we eat. Some of us just want to make sure that we're not overdoing it to make sure we get the most our of all this hard work that we're doing. And some of us are just taking it one day at a time and the only counting we're doing is the reps we're working on. Smile. It's all good!
